"Wonderful stay here, Friday 21st June, 2024. Cosy room, with all the facilities we required. Our room overlooked the river and outside drinking/dining area. This can be noisy, but it’s happy noise, adding to the atmosphere. We stayed one night as we were seeing a band at The Picturedrome, couldn’t be better placed for that. Great central place to stay for any other reason, too. The food we had was gold star stuff in our opinion, we had a dirty burger with sides a plaice with samphire,...

"We stopped over night and found everyone friendly helpful and the accommodation clean and warm everything we needed. There was large function taking place which I was emailed about beforehand to let me know they had moved my room to be a little bit further away from the noise , howeve r we did not retune till midnight so it did not effect us . 10 out of 10 will recommend and stay again "

"A characterful pub with a lovely beer garden by a little stream. Delicious breakfast. Friendly staff. Within walking distance to shops and cafes and the path leading up to walks up to Stanage Edge."

"The whole town is very compressed and tight for space. Part of the charm. The rooms at the Nook may not suit some people in terms of access as there are stairs to some of the rooms. Also quite noisy as very near a couple of pubs but if you accept this as part of the surroundings then its great. Room was good, bar and restaurant down stairs with excellent service in the evening and at breakfast. Would go again. "

We had a very warm welcome, all the staff were very friendly and the breakfasts and evening meals were excellent with lots of food options. Our room was cosy and very clean and comfortable. Although they don’t do breakfast there are plenty of places to get breakfast, we used Ye Old Nags Head and for £10.95 it was value for money.
