"i went there with my family last week. I prioritised the property as per the reviews in Google and other sites about the property. I got 4.3 rating in almost every sites. But now I am thinking that if this hotel have the rating 4.3 in 5, what is the conditions of other hotels at Thanjavur. Cleanliness is very poor. "Hotel was more run down than I expected, though I assumed it’s an older hotel. They could do so much with this location to improve experience. Room was fine and huge bed. Mattress not the softest. Great anur conditioning. Also limited hot water when I arrived at night. Had hoped to have a bath after long travels. As others have commented there is a very loud dawn chorus early morning. Might not be ideal for light sleepers. I used ear plugs. Upside of location is chance to see peacocks and feel...

"Excellent property which takes you back in time and the simplicity of life. Excellent staff - very cordial and great breakfast makes for a total package. For folks who might need to be in touch with reality, one area that might need some improvements is the electrical part of the rooms with a little more modern sockets etc as nobody can stay far from technology…"

"Overall, hotel amenities, service and location was good. Only one downfall, restaurant manager/supervisor who was in charge on 9Sep night (cant recall his name) passed an offensive and unacceptable remark on my way of eating thosai without realising that i’m a tamilian. I think he should just mind his own business and refrain from passing remark while customer having their meals. "

"Place needs to be mantained better. There was a black footprint on the bedsheet when we arrived and they had to be replaced. The place was not very clean. This was a non-smoking suite and we had tremendous smoke smell later in the night coming from the vents from an adjacent smoking room. We have relayed our complains to the manager but I don't think we would stay here again."
