"It’s a typical NZ motel - perfect for a short stay whilst travelling around this amazing country. The owner was incredibly helpful and informative on arrival which ensured we made the most do our first day in the area. Close the caves at Waitamo but it’s also worth going to the Kiwi Sanctuary- some great work being done to protect them. The motel room has all the facilities you need you need and is great value in a great location "

"Was only for one night as I visited the Caves. I was given a mountain view room with a balcony which was nice. I ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. The room was perfect, great hot water and pressure in the shower. If you are facing the road, you may experience traffic noise, but there are earplugs in your room. "

"It was a pleasurable stay in the Train Car hotel for our stopover in Waitomo. Very cute and cozy. Had all the amenities we needed. Just recommend keeping the interior doors open at night to keep both the bathroom and kitchen/living room area warm. "
