"The property had everything we needed. Sitting outside in the evening was very nice. The log burner was cosy after the sun went down. It was only a few minutes drive to the local shop and distillery. That being said,some mould remover and a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. shop and distillery."

"You are staying on a boat on land however it was modernised with flushing toilets and hot water and heating. Hosts Lynette and Angus were lovely and could not do enough for us, loved our welcome treats and nice touches throughout the boat. Perfect for a couple with medium size dog. "Fantastic property to stay in. Perfect for us going with friends, as it meant we had the cottage with 2 bedrooms for 1 family of 4 and then the out house with a further 2 bedrooms and bathroom for the other family. Stunning views, everything you need for a lovely cozy holiday. took part in the New Year's dip just a few minutes walk away at the Kames hotel beach all of us which was fun. . "Gate Cottage is even more lovely than the pictures show - spacious and well decorated, and the setting is very peaceful, with a private side and back yard, and another grassy area across a quiet road that leads down to the rocky beach facing the Isle of Bute. The one thing to be aware of for visitors is that there's only a small (but very well stocked) market and a few restaurants, some only open at weekends, right in Kames, so you'll need to bring in most provisions from a supermarket in...

"The Shelduck cottage is a excellent base for exploring this scenic part of Scotland. Easy access to the Ferries to Bute/ Tarbert and Dunoon ..Andrew , our host was very helpful and made our stay memorable.We used a wheelchair and his concrete ramp was ideal for entering and leaving this spacious property. Would recommend this quiet location overlooking loch Riddon. "

"The old school house has been very well updated. I was a little surprised that there was a road right in front of the property as from the description I was expecting to be a little more isolated. The road is a benefit for getting around, and a negative if you were expecting more seclusion. Angus and Willa were great hosts and helped with any needs we had. Loved exploring the area around Ford and would definitely return! Thanks for a great stay."

" Beautiful property, the pictures do not do justice to just how lovely and spacious this cottage is. My daughter and her partner had an amazing time making the most of the peaceful rural setting. The hosts were very helpful and had made it feel very festive with lovely decorations and Christmas crackers on the bed. A memorable stay."
