"It was a really bad experience! The owner of the hotel is rude and aggressive. We were charged for the breakfast even though it was included. Staff cannot speak English which makes communication difficult. However, the owner is the worst and rudest of them all. We wanted to spend the afternoon on the hotel facilities after having checked out. We were nearly screamed at that we have to leave the property as we have already checked out. The hotel has not been full, nor were a lot of people inside of the hotel. It was a really uncomfortable and unprofessional situation. We will definitely never stay at this property again. "

"Wow wow wow - this hotel, the location and the staff are all incredible! If you're thinking about going to Merzouga for a camel tour and need an extra night to stay, I'd highly recommend this place. The town is quieter than Merzouga and in our opinion, the people seemed much more relaxed and friendlier too! This place is also located 5mins away from an Oasis and just the other side of that, the sand dunes begin...we arrived in the dark and couldn't believe the views when we woke up!! After breakfast on the first day, we went for a little explore and after 15mins of walking found ourselves in the middle of the dunes, totally alone with untouched sand all around - it is honestly unbelievable!! We ended up booking an extra night here and delaying the rest of our trip because we loved it so much. The rooms are HUGE and have everything you need. The dinner menu is great (we had two lunches and two dinners and tried several of the meals - you won't go hungry!). The staff are all so friendly and welcoming - they go above and beyond for you in every way. They even let us order dinner through WhatsApp before we arrived (it was getting very late) so that when we got to the hotel we could sit and have dinner straight away. They helped us book a camel tour and buggy tour, both of which were fantastic. Couldn't have been happier that we booked to stay here - would highly recommend ⭐😄"

"Our family of 4 stayed 3 nights in Auberge Les Roches. We arrived by rental car around sunset and were pleased to have a complimentary tajin dinner that night. The breakfast was good, and we made tons of use of the pool, which was a hit with our kids. Amazing dunes are just a short walk away. We were in the area for fossil hunting. A couple other notes: we had to pay for the room in cash only, which we didn’t get notice about until the day before checkout and nearly had a problem with because there was only one ATM machine in town and it limited us to withdrawing 4000 MAD per account per day. I would have preferred a reminder at check in that we still needed to pay for the room and that it was cash only."

After growing up in the region he set out to get his degree then learned the craft of the international hospitality industry first-hand working with tourists across the globe. He retuned home and built the Desert Villa after architecting a design that is eco-friendly and beautiful. He hired craftsmen to execute his concept from the tile work in the pool and entry fountains, and guestrooms. He commissioned artwork, fossilized marble, wood carvings, and made lovely use of locally made drums for pendant lights as well as other touches of grace and beauty throughout the hotel and rooms. Youssef took us around his town, gave unique touring ideas, and showed us true guest hospitality. He and his staff were excellent, spoke beautifully in English and French and made some of the best breakfasts we've enjoyed this trip. The best place to stay in the region!"

"This was an amazing and unique experience in the middle of the desert. The camel ride and the SUV tour was worth it . I had tea in the nomads tent ,visited the old mines , listening to a life Gnawa show and lunch at Nora restaurant than camel ride back to camp .The host Zaid was the best host ever , he picked us upon arrival at 2am and drove us to camp than serve us a full dinner course especially made for us .I want to thank Zaid ,Mohamed and Fatima for making our visit so special . "
