You only live once, Spend your vacation in our Playa Avellanas Tree House, including 2 bedrooms each with ice cold AC and queen beds with 1500 count Egyptian cotton sheets, 2 bathrooms, a total of 3 flat screen TVs all with Apple TV, Netflix, as well as Ad-free YouTube, very strong and consistent high speed WiFi throughout, fully equipped kitchen, teak wood dining table and lots of teak wood throughout, withlocal art work, 4 extra large hammocks to choose from, upstairs covered patio with two ceiling fans, a BBQ, and beautiful gardens, all surrounded by nature. This is the perfect place for peace and quiet, relaxation and serenity. The house is very safe and secluded, with an upstairs and a downstairs apartment, also a 3rd story loft. The property is all privately gated and on over 1/2 acre. Your reservation includes paid exclusive beach access through neighboring Cabinas Las Olas, and their world famous mangrove boardwalk. They also have our favorite restaurant and bar conveniently at our half way point on our gorgeous walks to the beach. This is an incredible place to observe wildlife, enjoy beach walks, superb sunsets, swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, fishing, golfing and so much more. It is only a short walk to the beach out front, as well as lots of local restaurants, bars, shops, and groceries. Rental cars are not necessary. Taxis, tours, as well as transfers from Liberia airport (LIR), can all be easily arranged for you. Please let us know if you have any questions at all. Great time in Avellanas!
Stayed here with 3 others and found the location to be very accommodating. The location fit our needs with respect to private parking, security, and location to the beach. We were also able to cook meals in the kitchen which added to the convenience. Avellanas is a great beach town and the beach was a short walk away. It was nice lounging around in the hammock and enjoying the scenery. I would gladly go back.

Worth it.
Really enjoyed this tree house. Ben was a great host! He was very responsive to our questions and had great tips for what to do in the area. The actual house comfortably slept the four of us and had ample room for us to lounge and enjoy the weather. I had a great time traveling in Costa Rica, and this location was my favorite!

Surf and chill at Avellana Beach
Ben is an awesome host! He went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Walking through the boardwalk every day to the beach was a great experience. We really enjoyed our week there. Thanks Ben for everthing!

Amazing Stay Beautiful Surroundings
The hammocks were so nice and relaxing. There was even monkeys and parrots in the yard. The beach was magnificent and we really had a great time. I can’t say enough nice things. Ben was such a great host. We will be back!

Great Beach Getaway!
Me and a small group stayed at both places on Ben's property. The accommodations were nice for what I have experienced in Costa Rica. The property was a short walk to the beach and Ben's was a very responsive host!

Wonderful host!!
We really loved our stay at the treehouse, and Ben was a wonderful host. It was a perfect place to have two small families stay on the same property but in separate houses. The beach wasn’t far and Ben was very helpful with recommendations of restaurants and also in setting up our airport transportation. We had a wonderful Christmas vacation!

Another great visit!
We love staying here! It is a little rustic, but the location is awesome and it has everything you need to make meals and enjoy your time in the dry jungle! It was the perfect place to stay for our surf trip. The cats are very sweet and made my stay even better!

A wonderful jungle/beach adventure!
Ben met us and welcomed us and showed us around. He gave us great ideas for meals and beach activities, even bringing us a boogie board. Howler monkeys all around in the trees. Two charming cats welcomed us too. The treehouse is a bit rustic but truly a great Costa Rican experience! Our host Ben even joined us for breakfast at the local restaurant. Loved getting to know him!! The mangrove walk to the beach is magical just after sunset and Lola’s restaurante on the beach was a great hangout place with a fun vibe and great food! Highly recommend for the adventurous souls!

Fun Tree House Property
This house was a lot of fun and in a good location that is close to a beautiful beach. Ben was an amazing host. He checked up on us, gave us excellent recommendations on things to do and places to eat, gave us access to the beautiful boardwalk accessing the beach, and most of all was extremely nice. The house is a fun Costa Rican house also. It has two levels and had hammocks outside. There is also a small loft on a third level. The house is located inside a locked gate, which is nice for security. We appreciated the stay.

Private Near beach
Property was very secure and private. Great place to relax and just chill for a couple of days. Not 5 star accommodations but clean and comfortable. Ben was super nice and very helpful. Plenty of restaurants and a convenience store close by.

Great Location

A Rustic Wonderland!
The lodging is perfectly fine for a beach vacation, Ben makes the overall experience a 5+! We had a minor issue upon check in, which Ben remedied with sincere apologies. The beaches are beautiful and the upper level deck was a great hang out spot where we spent evenings reminiscing about our childhood. If you are looking for a beach vacation with the basics AND nature at its finest, the tree house is the place for you. Thank you Ben, Chachi and Yoko!

Rustic Treehouse
The Host Ben is very responsive and kind. I wanted to experience living among the Ticos and we loved it. This place is unique and cozy for the 4 of us girls. There are some minor upgrades needed but we are so easygoing that it was not a bother. We survived a huge thunderstorm and no power for just a couple hours. The property has 2 cats. Also each bedroom has air conditioning and we enjoyed Netflix in the evening. This area is definitely a surf town and several restaurants walking distance. Lola’s was a 10 minute walk. Ben gave us passes to enter via Las Olas in order to get to the beach which was a very impressive walk because we saw monkeys and crabs. At the beac we boogey board and rained a little but that did not bother us. Tamarindo is about a 30 minute drive and that was an amazing experience. We drank, danced and laughed. We met Ben’s friend Jeff and he helped us girl get to know a little more of Playas Avellanas. We ate at La Tia and the Pinto Tico was delicious. I really enjoyed our experience in Costa Rica.

Great vibe!
We were spoiled with getting to see 10 howler monkeys in the tree outside the treehouse. Our main objective was to be at the beach as much as possible. We either walked or drove the short distance. Plenty of local food options between the house and beach. Felt close to nature with the sounds and sightings of birds, geckos, monkeys , iguanas and resident cats.

Romantic Getaway
We were looking for a place to getaway for just the two of us and this was the perfect spot! Beautiful cabin away from everything. Once we were there we never left as it had everything we needed. Check-in and management were amazing! The propane tank for the grill was empty but it wasn’t that big of a deal. The long gravel driveway can be a little tricky as it is steep in areas and the turn around is small but we didn’t have any major issues and we had a Ford Flex. Overall it was 5 stars and we’ll definitely be back!

Rustic but Home (Pura Vida)
It was a truly wonderful 4 week vacation. Ben was super responsive to any of our questions or concerns. He also made suggestions to make our trip even better. The house is in an excellent location…a 15-20 minute walk to the one of the most beautiful beaches you’ll ever see. During the heat of the day it was great to relax in the hammocks on the covered deck, feel the breeze and enjoy a cold cerveza. After 2 weeks back in the cold the one thing we miss most is all the wonderful warm and friendly people we met.

Month at the Tree House
Spent April at the tree house and had a wonderful time. Ben is a great host. Love the location and the peaceful vibe of the property. The property is rustic so don't expect luxury but it is very charming and comfortable. We really enjoyed the upstairs deck and chilled in the hammock often. The neighborhood is great. Love the beach and the local restaurants. if you are looking for a luxury experience this is not your place. If you are looking for an authentic local experience in a quiet community close to a beautiful beach, great waves, and some good restaurants this is for sure a gem. I found great relaxation and peace there. I will be back for sure. Thanks Ben!

Peace and quiet by the beach
The house itself is nothing fancy, just a comfortable rental a short walk from Playa Avellanas. But the customer service by Ben, the owner, was outstanding -- among the best I've experienced from VRBO. When problems cropped up (the maid didn't hide the key where expected, the A/C wasn't working properly), Ben responded promptly and patiently, working to fix any glitches. This, combined with the super-comfortable Tempur-Pedic bed upstairs, the friendly cats, and the overall mellow vibe, provided a peaceful vacation stay that was just what the doctor ordered! I would be happy to go back anytime.

Perfect beach getaway
Had an amazing time at Ben's place in Playa Avellanas. The treehouse was the perfect spot to chill and relax while being conveniently located near the beach and near lots of good eating spots. The place is very quaint and rustic but, that's our style -- if you aren't the camping type this place might not be for you as you are close with nature! Hammocks were well utilized by us -- so comfortable and relaxing and the perfect spot to completely unwind. Our host, Ben was so amazing and instantly you feel like you've know him forever. He makes sure everything is taken care of and is such a nice guy!! Things we enjoyed during our stay: - gelato next door - day trips to Pirate's Bay, Playa Negra, Tamarindo - Reina's chocolate shop -- do the tastings!! - boogie boarding...great surf on the beach - amazing smoothies at most restaurants (passionfruit is a must) This is such a great way to enjoy the Gaunacaste region of Costa Rica! Thank you Ben for the most amazing stay...keep in touch!!
