"Property is about 10 mins walk from the Bus station and Hotel does not provide shuttle to and fro, hence it is inconvenient to pull fhe luggage during winter time to the hotel. The back door of the hotel helps for quick access to the Yubate. Morning and Dinner buffet offer a very good spread but there is no need to book half board for more than 1 night as menus are largely the same. "

"I want to start off by saying I had a nice visit, I did the half board option and the food was plentiful and very tasty. Lots of variety, the sushi was not good and their take on Western food isn't great but the Japanese food is awesome. 2 different Onsen areas that alternate gender daily so you can try both. "Our stay at Ruokan Hiyoshi was the highlight of our day trip to Chichibu. "I really enjoyed my stay at Kashiwaya Ryokan. Although it was long to get to without a car, it was worth the travel. The 2 days there didn’t feel like it was enough time. "Wonderful, European styled accommodations and hotel. Clean, tastefully designed and decorated. Love the unique layout of an all-inclusive town. only wish more things were open, but I’m guessing that’s due to the low tourist season. Will be back to this hotel when we explore during a more open season the entrance is tricky. It’s on the side street with parking across."

"Room I stayed had beautiful view of ski resort, but it was very quiet, also how they arranged the bathroom and toilet and wash basins was very nice to shared by two persons and with privacy. Also hotel offered very nice public bath, which I would like to recommand very highly. However, choice of food could of been wider, but all and all this place was alot better located and offed better food than other hotels I stayed at Karuizawa before."

Nice location and spacious room

"Not sure where the -ve reviews are coming from but we absolutely had a good stay here. It's not right next to the train station but close enough, 5 min walk. There is shuttle service provided to the train station (outlet) and the ski centre. For those driving EV, there is charging available."

"Our stay was great. Checkin was easy just use the machine add your details and get code of the room. Room was good, we had view of Shinkansen and trains. Breakfast was delicious we loved it and again checkout was easy. Cheerful and helpful staff, clean hotel and delicious healthy breakfast. Thank you hotel Sun!!!"
