"The hotel staff was very prompt, curious, friendly, and professional. We visited the hotel in early March and found it to be relatively quiet. They provide a shuttle service to Diamond Peak ski resort included with our stay. Overall, we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and plan to return back."

"The property employs a unique self-checkin system. The guest is phone-interviewed and asked to perform online registration fill-ins. After that, the guest must call a number to get a door security code. All happened during normal business hours (before 7pm). So, I interacted no one at the lodge office. At checkout, I had to lock the door with the same security code and send text to let the management about checkout. Well, the system worked out for me..."

"I have stayed her 5-6 times. It took us 45 minutes to get into our room as we did a late check in and the key card wouldn’t work. I was able to get a hold of their after hours line and they were out in 10 minutes. We thought the room was warm because we had been outside. Unfortunately our heater was broken and would only stay on 2-15 minutes before the pilot would go out if I could get it on. There was a sign on the thermostat that said to turn off and wait a minute and turn back on. I barely...

"Our place was clean and very comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful. We forgot our plug-in for our phone cord and they let us borrow one. Grat service and concerned about our needs. It was quiet and peaceful...a nice getaway."

"Ed was very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The room was much bigger than we expected, and had a microwave and mini fridge. It's right across from a public beach and pier which was beautiful, there is also a restaurant. We also enjoyed the cafe down the street for breakfast. Great proximity to Northstar, we will definitely stay here again!"

"We really enjoyed our stay. The townhouse was really nice. We were super happy with the air conditioning with the heat wave that week. We spent the majority of our time at the pool, the kids loved the water slide. Getting to restaurants was around a 10 minutes drive. They do have a restaurant there but we didn’t try it. We would definitely stay here again."

"This home was absolutely perfect for our family of 10 (6 adults, 4 kids) and we all agreed we hope we can stay there again next year! We’ve rented many Tahoe/Truckee cabins over the years and have never felt so impressed from the minute we walked in the door. The home is immaculately clean, tastefully furnished, with every possible amenity (beautiful chef’s kitchen, plenty of extra towels/linens). It has the perfect layout for a big family to spread out. The kids loved the bunkroom and den with foosball table. The beds were comfortable with high end linens, which was very appreciated. We all had so much fun and made great memories. Thank you Daru family!"

Great Stay In Donner

"My wife and 2 kids (3 and 2) had a great time at this location. Did a little sledding in the backyard, skiing at Donner ski hill (couple minute drive), sledding at the main sled hill on Northwoods and went to some good restaurants in the area. The location was perfect for our little getaway. "

"My ski club had a great stay. Elle, the property manager, could not have been more accessible. The owner kindly allowed us to occupy the house early because of an incoming storm. I highly recommend this property and hope to return with friends or family someday. "

"We took our teens during winter for some fun in the snow. The location is great: close to downtown Truckee and all that Tahoe Donner has to offer. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. Other reviewers have mentioned that it is dated, and some of the fixtures and furnishings may be a bit dated, but everything was operational, comfortable, and this is one of the more affordably priced rentals in the area. The owner is very responsive and super helpful, too. There are lots of games to play, comfortable beds, and a well-appointed kitchen. We enjoyed our stay and think this would be a great place to visit in the summer, too!"

Gorgeous home with last minute availability for this snowy time

Ideal for winter family fun!

"The house offered one of our best VRBO experiences. We love Truckee for both summer and winter vacations, and this was our best house rental. The kitchen was outstanding and let us cook many family meals and desserts. The kids loved the foosball table and backyard for snow play. It was a short drive to ski resorts. It snowed heavily in the preceding days, and the roads and driveway were plowed well enough that we didn’t need chains and we appreciated having the 2 car garage. The beds were very comfortable! I will definitely mark this as a favorite for a future trip!"
