It is a historical hotel, so you have to put up with lack of amenities. This includes no elevator, few plugs for modern gadgets, no Wifi, no refrigerator or microwave. Parking sucks-far away and you better get in early. After I lucked out the first night and someone pulled out of a full parking lot, the next night I parked and walked to my other destinations. The bathroom door in the room I had stuck and was hard to open. If you like stepping back in time, it's OK, but if you want any modern conveiniences skip it.
This is a lovely historic hotel. We loved the atmosphere. The best thing about this hotel was the restaurant. I had one of the best dinners of my life here, and I’m in my late sixties. The only complaint would be the road noise from outside. It did quiet down after 10:00 pm. I should have read the reviews and opted for a room closer to the back of the hotel. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was the normal continental, but more than adequate. I would stay here again if I am ever up this way again.
The hotel was really cool! You could feel the history of the place, but not in a creepy way!
The only reason I didn’t give the room 5 stars was because it was on the corner of two streets so there was traffic noise on and off all through the night, and we were on the third floor. Had we been smart enough to request a room on the back side of the hotel, it would probably have been as quiet as a church mouse. And as nice and accommodating as the staff was, they would probably have moved us, had we asked and other rooms had been available. Overall it is a great place.

We stayed at this property out of necessity. It was fine. The bed was very uncomfortable and even though they said it was a queen, I have my doubts. I would only recommend staying here if there is nowhere else to stay.
Will definitely stay here again!! The staff the accommodations and the cafe restaurant amazing!!
Location is perfect and the historian charm a must to experience!!!
This place was absolutely lovely especially for such an historical option. Oldest in Central NY. The staff and the food....everything was seriously wonderful.
Bedding was shabby, carpet was shabby, bathroom was shabby. An air-conditioner in a window on a floor above us kept dripping water onto the top of the air-conditioner in our room causing an awful, incessant tapping sound outside our window. At 12:30, in the middle of the night, the desk manager had to come into our room with a screwdriver to help remove the air-conditioning unit from the the window. The unit in our room was, itself, a piece of junk on which we could not change any settings so it kept running at full-blast making the room too cold. This place is not a 3- or 4- star hotel. It is old and tired.
