"Our time on Gistholmen was FANTASTIC! However, it started with the hiccup of the VRBO description being on the wrong island (it is NOT on Ingmarsö Södra, an 8 minute walk from the ferry dock as the description is or at least was, hopefully that gets updated!). It is on Gistholmen that you need to take the Waxholmsbolaget ferry to (no need to book ahead, but depending on the day and season there might only be two potential drop-off and pick-up times). "We spent a very happy 8 nights here. As we hadn't rented a car we relied on the local train - which worked well and we nipped in to Stockholm easily a couple of times. The hosts were very welcoming and we have everything we needed. If I was to say anything less positive it would be that its such a shame the host cant make a small area available so you can sit outside (garden is private), also the cottage is a little overlooked by the main house.
