"Residence William French greatly exceeded our expectations! We made our booking there due to its close proximity to the Cape of Good Hope and Boulder’s Beach, excited about hiking and penguins. It turns out our experience at Residence William French rivaled our experiences at the Cape and with the penguins; it was fantastic! The residence is located in a quiet neighborhood, perched on a hillside with a stunning view of False Bay. The property is impeccably decorated, comfortable, and welcoming. Our dinner and breakfast there were beautifully and thoughtfully prepared, and delicious, on par with the best meals we’ve had in Cape Town. William is the perfect host. We were sad to leave, wishing we’d booked more nights there."

"My husband and I spent 4 lovely nights in this charming cottage overlooking False Bay, in Simon’s Town, Cape Town, South Africa. It had everything we needed and the local manager who checked us in was fantastic and provided lots of recommendations for places to go, sites to see, and where to eat. We enjoyed walking down to the beach to see penguins and other wildlife. We were even once greeted by a baboon calling out from the top of a house nearby. The view is breathtaking! You can see the sunrise over the bay in the morning as you drink your coffee on the portico or from the seating area inside. The owner has numerous potted plants as well as grape vines adorning the entrance way and outdoor seating areas. There is a beautiful mosaic mermaid mural which represents the naming of the cottage. Communication before and during the stay was with both the owner and the manager was excellent. We would love to stay here again in the future. A few days here left us wanting more. "

Freshly ground coffee delivered to your room at a time you choose each morning was a great touch. I fell in love with Kalk Bay - what a gem of a town. And I'd highly recommend staying at Chartfield to anyone looking to visit Kalk Bay."

"This house is suited perfectly for an amazing view. It was clean and comfortable. The hosts were kind and welcoming. The town of Fish Hoek is an easy walk and the beach is so perfectly close for walks. We walked to the neighboring town also several times."
