Unlike other Grand hotels I have stayed at, The Imperial still maintains the original high standards of the Grand Hotel. "The hotel is very handy from the railway station. The bar area was a delight to relax in, with the chap playing the baby grand. The chairs are comfy but low for eating from (for me 5'4) The restaurant is colourful and the breakfast was good. I was in a room at the back of the hotel and the decor was simple, the room was fine though (i like the old furnitire) and warm enough for me (im a cold person) but maybe a little overpriced. "Excellent service from the staff. Perfect location with lift directly down to harbour road. We only stayed two nights and the only negatives would be no room service for new toiletries or teabags between nights. Also if you have a car and have mobility issues the car park is located fairly close but area very hilly. Would however return "
