"The apartment hotel is a new building in a suburban residential area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant called Brothers nearby which serves gyros and other Greek meals and is frequented by locals. There is a mini mart and a couple of bakeries as well on the same street. There is ample street parking so it is a good location for those renting vehicles to explore Crete. We visited Knossos and Matala Beach but did not have time to visit the Old Town of Heraklion.
