The Calf Pen

Welcome to The Farm at Hyde Park; a micro farm experience like no other. The Calf Pen is a newly remodeled 2 bed, 2 bath home done with country charm and open space both inside and out. SEE THE NEW UPLOADED PHOTOS. Bring your tent(s) and let the kids camp in the spacious yard. Or, pitch a party tent and have your backyard wedding with room to spare.
This spring we are planting the expanded berry patches and the new raised vegetable/herb gardens. Come stay and enjoy locally made honeys, jams and syrups along with fresh farm produce. More photos coming as finishing touches are added.

This place exceeded all our expectations! Glenn’s courtesy extended to leaving us fresh milk, eggs, honey, and maple syrup! It’s thoughtfully designed and comfortable, and you won’t find a nicer host. I hope we can come back someday!

Excellent experience in beautiful setting
Lovely large space. Clean and accomodating with farm treats of fresh eggs milk and honey thrown in! I recommend getting off the beaten path for a relaxing and quiet stay!

Great place!!
Very peaceful place that backs up to a wooded area. The Calf Pen was very clean, plenty of room and has many comforts of home! Glen, the owner, lives on the property but is respectful of your space while being available to answer questions or for a friendly chat. The deck is a wonderful spot to enjoy the sounds of nature and visits from Glen's chickens.

Weekend Get Away
My family and I stayed at the Calf Pen for Easter weekend and it was good experience. The duplex house is cozy and spacious. The property host, which lives right next door was very friendly and attentive during our stay there. They have fresh eggs, honey, and milk.

Beautiful Location
We were only in the area for a few days to see the Roosevelt / Vanderbilt homes. This was a great location - close to both and also to Rhinebeck. Would highly recommend. Very dog friendly.

Very nice stay here
Great location to see Hyde Park and environs. Attentive and conscientious host. Large accommodation, excellent kitchen, very comfortable and well done baths. Host gifted us with farm eggs and local milk and honey/maple syrup, which was a nice touch. Enjoyed our week here.

Ideal location, great host
My wife and i wanted to explore the Hyde Park, Rhinbeck area. Glens accommodation proved to be a perfect location and extremely comfortable. Glen adds a great welcoming touch by leaving farm fresh eggs and milk in the fridge, along with a number of other goodies. HIGHLY recommend staying here!!

Updated house in quiet location
Our family stayed here for a few days, and it was really a perfect place to host a gathering of extended family members. Glen was so accommodating of our requests, and we really appreciated his flexibility. This vrbo is perfect for family staying who need a large kitchen and want to have outdoor gatherings on the deck. a delightful weekend away
The Calf Pen is a lovely recently-renovated inside space with an expansive outdoor space. There are sweet touches like little samples of local honey and syrup, fresh milk, and loads of maps/guides to their favorite local restaurants, farms, and hikes. Glen, the host, was very friendly and helped us learn how to work the fireplace. We will definitely be looking to book with Glen again soon!!

Wonderful Hudson Valley Stay
The calf pen was wonderful. Historic area and a prefect location to other great towns.Tucked away and surrounded by beautiful trees. The fall leaves made the trees that much more beautiful. Glen was very welcoming. Farm fresh eggs, milk and honey. He even accommodated us last minute to arrive early. We can’t wait to come back!

Home on the Farm
We stayed her with our dogs during the NY Sheep and Wool Festival. The owner, Glen was very helpful and responsive to questions. The property was clean and had the amenities that we expected. They even had samples of honey and other farm grown items to try, such as eggs laid by the chickens on the property! The location was easy to get to Rhinebeck and Poughkipsie!

Had a wonderful time at the Calf Pen. Well-built property, very cute. Kitchen is generously furnished. We were planning to go out but it looked so nice I grabbed some supplies and made breakfast the second morning, which was a joy. Bedrooms are cozy, and the main room is pleasant to spend time in. Porch is also very charming. Slightly buggy, but even this was accounted for; there are citronella candles provided. Later in the evening we saw fireflies too!

I had a wonderful 9 day stay at the Calf-pen. Glen, the host was available but not intrusive. The Calf-pen is very convenient to 9G and 9. A quiet, private location but not isolated. My favorite room was the kitchen. Very large with absolutely everything you could ask for, large side by side LG refrigerator with 2 freezer drawers, dish washer, gas stove. Lots of glassware (wine and water), Cuisinart chopper, knife set and a great (easy) wine opener. Three of us were able to prepare dinner and not be in each other's way. The floors are wood, no carpeting, a big plus for me and my dog. The bathrooms are very nice, all new tile, with lots of towels. The house has AC and heat units. I only used the AC one night as the house stayed very comfortable most days/nights. I certainly look forward to staying there on my next visit to the area.

The place is very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the setting is lovely. The fresh eggs, fresh milk and honey and syrup samples were a lovely touch. Glenn responded right away to a couple of small issues. Overall, a quite comfortable place---A floor lamp and/or a table lamp in the living room would be a nice addition for those of us who like to read!

Wonderful Accommodations
Glen was very responsive to our request. Place was very clean and well stocked. We had a great time at the sheep and wool festival and the Calf Pen was the perfect place to stay. The outside patio was great for knitting and relaxing away from the crowds.

Weekend at the Calf Pen
This place is awesome!!!! Celebrated our anniversary here and had a great time. Glen is such a nice and welcoming host and keeps his space in perfect condition. 2 bedrooms and almost slept on the couch because it was that comfortable! We will definitely be back soon!!!

Fall weekend getaway
My husband and I stayed at the Calf Pen along with another couple. My husband and I had previously stayed at the Church on the same property and thought the Calf Pen might be better for four adults. It was great! We were in town for two days to see the airshow at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome and had a wonderful time. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect quiet spot
The property was very convenient for an event we had traveled to and it was a welcome relaxing spot at the end of a couple of long days. All we needed for a comfortable stay was supplied from kitchen to bathroom to bedroom.
