"Excellent accommodation in a historic building, very centrally located right next to the cathedral. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast. Bedroom overlooking the street was a little noisy in the evening."

"Good location and a nice property. Three weird things: one the toilet was out of the room and upstairs, two the shower was directly in the room which is very weird and uncomfortable and three there were no staff on site at all which was odd. Otherwise good facilities and a comfy bed."

"Churchill house is an absolute gem. This B&B is absolutely beautiful. The decor is in keeping with its the building’s era. Every touch possible was included. Our room was comfortable, clean and wonderfully appointed. The host is extremely responsive. The share kitchen is well stocked and the continental breakfast is varied and generous. We loved our stay and would highly recommend to anyone lookout for a lovely retreat. Thank you Alex. We will be back. "

"Beautiful old building but run down. Cold water not connected to shower and hot water not connected to sink. Needs a thorough cleaning. Carpet needs replacing. No one on duty at front desk. Manager is doing the best he can, very polite and kind. "

"They moved our time earlier on the ferries so we had to ditch one night in london so i booked this one on the photos and omg i should have run when another lady came out saying it was ok they didnt need it. I had a choice and picked the top floor. My hairs in my nose were burning . Toilet was sitting at a 45 degree angle and ask my hubby not to sit . I think i sleep 2 hrs all night. "We are a group of 8 ladies enjoying a weekend away and we had a wonderful weekend at Downs Cottage. The property was perfect… comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor, superb location, sauna was a bonus and the garden was very pretty. Deal itself was a very welcoming town, friendly people. "Amazing customer service . This was booked for an elderly relative who had to move rooms on 3rd date (own choice). Unfortunately she forgot to check out but the staff made sure all her belongings were moved safely into the new room and out in correct place until she returned that evening. "

"Great family-run B&B, within 15-20 minutes walk from Canterbury West Station and the city center. Beds are comfortable, dining options were satisfactory and reasonably priced. Wifi was great, I was able to get some work done in the evening. Would come back again. If I were being picky, the showers could be more powerful!"

Gem of a hotel in Margate

"This is a beautiful, gem of a hotel in Margate. There is a relaxed atmosphere as soon as you step in. We had a room looking onto the sea with a balcony. The room was very big and spacious with lots of amenities. The decor is stylish with additional touches like a record player and vintage phone and radio. The pantry with free snacks on the second floor is a lovely addition too. The restaurant which is used for breakfast is stylish with a good view of the sea. While we didn’t have the best weather for a seaside visit (!) the hotel made up for it making it a lovely night away. I would definitely recommend this hotel The staff were all pleasant and happy to help. "

"Overall a very good experience- we all slept well and enjoyed the breakfast. Access to the hotel was difficult due to maintenance on the road - we actually heard works at midnight - this is not acceptable. Other than that, we had a good stay! "
