"Our stay at Oglebay was wonderful from start to finish. We booked a vacation for ourselves, our 20 month old and my parents. It was perfect. The restaurant and its staff were professional and accommodating. The hotel staff was fantastic. We had a problem with our room heater and they changed the whole unit within the hour! The pool area was wonderful and we swam 2x a day. We took our son to the environmental center, the horse stables and on a stroller walk on the gorgeous property through the snow when it warmed up a tiny bit. Route 88 Burgers was great for dinner one night. We didn’t visit the zoo because it was too cold out (10-20 degrees all week) but I’m sure it’s great. We stayed on the first floor of the Byrd wing close to the pool and our baby monitor even reached the Hickman Lounge area, so the adults were able to play cards, sit in front of the fire place, and visit when my son was napping or after he went to bed. All in all, a perfect, relaxing stay. We would love to return in the summer months and stay in a cottage or chalet and use the outdoor pool complex too. We highly recommend Oglebay for families! "

"I've been staying at this hotel for years. It's been pleasant every time. It's disappointing they don't do the eggs, bacon, and sausage anymore in the morning, but it's a great value. The rooms are clean, comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Local menu's are in the dresser drawer and the local food is pretty good. "
