Family get together
Beautiful courtyards and property. Need a car. Living space/kitchen not big enough for 8 adults. We ate two lovely meals at the little restaurant. Kitchen could be better equipped as not enough glasses etc. Great staff very helpful

Lovely place to relax
Eremo delle Fate is a very peaceful, charming and relaxing place with two swimming pools and extensive grounds which are very secure. We stayed in the top section of the house with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, big living room (with tv, dvd and many dvds), a well equipped kitchen and our own extensive private outdoor areas for reading, relaxing and eating. There is good WiFi in all indoor and outdoor areas. The accommodation is good with air conditioning in one of the double bedrooms. There are two swimming pools that are shared with other guests from the other 2/3 parts of the house - though we had sole use of one of the pools for about 95% of our stay. The smaller pool (but still big enough to swim lengths) is on top of a short hill with stunning views across the Valley. This pool is for adults only so is very peaceful but as I say, it was 100% ours for most of the time. The other pool is larger and in the main part of the grounds but again was hardly used whilst we were there. There is a small restaurant on site that opens only when there is a booking - we had a good breakfast there one morning. There is a table tennis table amongst other things. Once a week the owners host a pizza party where you have a chance to cook your own pizzas in an authentic pizza oven which is great fun and there is lots of wine to be drank on these evenings which are a must. As on most holidays it’s advisable to take some bug spray as there is potential to be bitten. Spoleto itself is a fascinating place with lots of historic buildings (including a castle, a cathedral and a Roman amphitheater) to visit without being touristy in anyway. We stayed for 2 weeks and managed without hiring a car because our main objective was to relax. It’s a 30 minute walk down into town along a windy road for good supermarkets and restaurants. We used taxis for rides back up the hill which were very reliable. It’s a 90 minute journey by air-conditioned train into Rome from Spoleto station - approx 8euros each way. Most people visiting do hire a car as there are lots of interesting places to visit and things to do in the region (eg Assisi, rafting). The owners live on site but are very respectful of your privacy and were very attentive and accommodating where needed. Overall, would thoroughly recommend.

Great for a family retreat!
A warm and welcoming farmhouse in the countryside right outside Spoleto, ideal both as a very comfortable base from which to explore the hillside towns of Umbria as well as a peaceful place to stroll around and just enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the swimming pool. The food prepared by the owner herself is lovely, too!

Wonderful, relaxing vacation in Umbria!
All the reviews are true, this is a lovely property and great place for a vacation! My wife and I spent a week there in September and enjoyed the relaxing setting. Genevra has put great effort into making this property feel like home and it certainly does with every detail attended to with great perfection! She and Luigi are exceptional hosts and make the stay most pleasant. We particularly enjoyed our private terrace where we relaxed with a glass of wine every evening as the sun set. Genevra also had excellent suggestions for restaurants in the area. Spoleto is close by and a beautiful and relaxing town and there are many options for day trips in the area. We highly recommend this property and would absolutely love to make a return visit!

Beautiful, stylish and extremely secluded, nestled in a forest with incredible views.
We loved our stay at Eremo delle Fate, the house was stylish and comfortable and private and we had a pretty garden with stunning views. There are 2 wonderful pools, one is huge which the kids adored and the other is higher up, very romantic with an incredible view of the countryside surrounding Spoleto and bearing dramatic sunsets. Spoleto is very attractive and culturally rich. The architecture is breathtaking. My son wants to say that he loved the pool and the pizza night that Ginevra organised on our last night. Thank you Ginevra for giving us a wonderful holiday and for cooking us 2 absolutely delicious suppers. We would love to return.

Wonderful Place
We stayed in Eremo Delle Fate for a week in June last year. We had such a lovely relaxing time. Our only regret was that our stay was not longer. There were so many things we did not get around to doing - we were always torn between staying around gorgeous Eremo Delle Fate and exploring the many attractions around Spoleto. The Marini family were outstanding in their welcome and it was so interesting talking to Ginevra's parents about life growing up in Rome etc. The Marinis organised a trip to the Shepherds restaurant in the hills around Spoleto and a pizza party in the lovely grounds of Eremo Delle Fate where we got to eat some fabulous homemade pizza and meet the other guests - a great evening. Ginevra's Mam also gave my 2 daughters and myself a cooking lesson in the restaurant which was really enjoyable. Ginevra organised a rafting trip which was such terrific fun. When the weather wasn't great, we found lovely movies in the apartment and enjoyed watching 'Under the Tuscan Sun' and 'My house in Umbria' in the heart of the gorgeus hills of Spoleto. The standard of accomodation, the grounds, the pools, the view etc were second-to-none. We have so many lovely memories of a great holiday. Unfortunately we are not holidaying in Italy this year - if we were we would surely be returning to Eremo Delle Fate.

Something for every one
We, a group of four grandparents and a family with a 2,5 year child, had a good holiday in Eremo delle Fate. The area around the houses is large with horses, sheep, goats, chicken, turtles, dogs and cats, which was particularly nice for the little boy. The two large pools offer welcome refreshment and the view from the pools and house is fantastic. Ginerva made our stay most comfortable and memorable. She seems to be a lady with lots of ideas and energy. We will be happy to recommend your house to anyone seeking a stylish house in a beautiful area. Thank you, Ginevra! A fantastic taste of Italian hospitality
We have had two marvellous holidays at this property. It is beautifully restored and maintained, furnished comfortably and with true Italian Country style. The setting on a hillside overlooking Spoleto and the Umbrian countryside is glorious; it is close enough to Spoleto to make easy visits to shops and restaurants but once you are back at the Eremo the peace and tranquility of the olive groves surrounds you. There is lots of space here for wandering, sitting, playing and the two swimming pools are both excellent in proportion and maintenance. One of the pools is in the sunshine all day, while the other pool becomes shady in the late afternoon making it perfect for children who can stay in the pool all afternoon without becoming too hot. Sunny terraces and shady places are all around for you to take your pick. But the really great thing about this property is that the owners really want your holiday to be special. They have at every opportunity helped us experience the magic to be had on holiday in Italy, from white-water rafting trips to evenings out in local restaurants where the food is the stuff of dreams. My children and I ride here in the UK and we rode at the owners riding stables at the Spoleto Country Club where the facilities were first rate and the horses exhilarating. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a real Italian experience.

A fantastic holiday villa
We had a wonderful holiday in the villa which is set in the Umbrian hills with magnificent views. The accommodation is clean and well presented in a typical Italian farmhouse style with a great swimming pool. We would certainly recommend it. We went with another family of four who have also written a review and we certainly would endorse their positive comments made.
