"The room was as you would expect for the money. The major disappointment was the lack of a blind for the skylight which meant the room was very light until quite late and then again from early, a nightmare for trying to get children to sleep."

"Amazing. Right from the start the staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. Food was delicious - we ate at the hotel for dinner - having the 'pigs' in blanket sharing starter and then both steak pies. Next morning - breakfast was great - although there was no 'bacon' for us - the server compensated by offering us additional sausages - so it wasn't too much of a disappointment. "

"It was a friendly place to stay with extremely good food especially the breakfasts. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities excellent. It was in a lovely village, with pleasant people in the coffee shops, and a nice walk near the church with a river and horses in a field. only a few minutes away from Castleton too."

"Stayed 2 nights in Feb. Very comfortable bed and well presented room. The Inn itself was quiet and so lacked a little atmosphere but then it was mid-week. The food was excellent, I especially liked the salmon and the mushroom risotto was splendid. We would have eaten there again on the second night but the vegetarian options were limited. I'm sure the chef would have come up with something suitable but we wanted to explore other eating options locally anyway. Breakfast was plentiful and the bar...

"Nice pub, our room was above bar so you could hear the bar below, it's a pub at the end of the day so you have to expect some noise. Room clean and tidy bed comfy shower good and hot, tea making facilities tea bags wont replenished. For the price of room it was value for money. Location good for the city center and railway station "
