"Really was a lovely place to stay. Staff always helpful and chatty. Room was immaculate and so was the hotel. I really cannot fault. The food was excellent with lots of choice and fresh. They certainly did not cut corners with lovely meat dishes, lots of fresh fruit, fresh breads really nice. My ONLY small criticism was that we chose this hotel because it showed a swimming pool and hot-tub. However they didn't make it clear that you have to PAY EXTRA for this EVERY time. Xalet Montana is lovely; newly/nicely renovated, very clean, well-maintained, centrally located, free parking across the street, friendly/polite staff, nice mountain views, good/fresh breakfast (perfect coffee), free ski lockers at the main Soldeu gondola (gondola is a 5-minute walk & takes you up Grandvalira). It's adult-only, so no loud children running around... just loud-drunk adults! Main cons: The spa was clean and relaxing, but the jacuzzi was cool/tepid, not hot....

"In despite of excellent communications and support from the staff, it is unfortunate that they have been let down by a property that is tired and in need of a facelift! The sofa beds were old and in some instances broken and in need of a replacement. There was nowhere really to dry ski gear and car parking is only suitable for small cars. Overall, I would say an average property with exceptional service!"

The biggest problem was access, we could not park near and even if we would have that opportunity, it would still mean to take all our baggage via 2 elevators plus stairs as it is built in steep hill. Receptionist was very friendly and went down to wait for us, otherwise we would not find it."
