"Highly recommend! We absolutely loved the Garage! The surroundings were gorgeous, and it very easy to find. The property itself was spacious, spotless, well equipped and lovely as well! Check in was easy, and Anna, Siggi and Einar were very helpful both at check in and prior to arriving, sending detailed and helpful instructions. I would warn that this is quite remote, so it isn’t too close to supermarkets. However, this is made very clear in the check in instructions and as such we were well prepared. What made this property really stand out and make this perfect was the little extras that made us feel valued and well looked after. For instance the access to a central kitchen with extra cooking supplies if we needed them, homemade cakes for us to help ourselves to, a funny and informative welcome booklet and access to a hot tub in the most beautiful of surroundings (although we didn’t use this). After our experience here, we were sad that we only booked to stay one night and would definitely come back if we visit Iceland again. "

So grateful for the “wake up call” service when the Northern Lights were present as this was a bucket list experience for me. "We have a lovely one night stay at Skalakot. It’s very charming, simple hotel in beautiful surroundings. The bed was comfy and the shower was good. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The spa was small but nice, gets quite cramped if there are more than 4 people in there. I think it would benefit from an outdoor hot tub. Dinner was nice, breakfast was ok. "
