"Check in was great, staff checked cars into the parking system for the duration of the stay, food was excellent, room was clean, the staff were all great, lots of choice of eating establishments, but I wouldn't have wanted to have missed out on an evening meal here either "

"Comfortable bed and spacious room. Noisy at night but not surprising as the rooms are above the bar and restaurant. Parking facilities were good and staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast a little disappointing as there was no hot food available. None the less would stay again if in the area. "

"Very friendly, comfortable,and clean. Recently refurbished with up to date essentials but not loosing the 17th century feel. That is well preserved.Good size Showers and bath (not all rooms had a bath). Many local customers relaxing and chatting, and friendly show its popularity and give it a lovely atmosphere of "the good old days". Loved it."

"Very friendly place, very busy in bar area but accommodation separate (& quiet 😊👍)… enjoyed looking round the bar area after breakfast next day, lots of interesting items/photos etc and nice to be away from the ‘corporate’ feel that most hotels seem to have these days. I’m sure we’ll be back."

"We had a fantastic stay at the Duke William, excellent staff, food and rooms. The staff are so friendly and efficient. It was great to see how they have a lovely relationship with both the locals and newcomers. The food was amazing and a great choice. "We had to book at the last minute due to an emergency family vist in the area,Tracey who greeted us on a late arrival was very friendly and went out of her way to get us some food as the kitchen was closed when we arrived,it was much appreciated.lovely grounds to sit in on the outside and in.we had a dinner the next evening at Mickys dinner just 10 min up the road wich was recommended to us,nice friendly staff and nice food."

"A fantastic get away from London. So relaxing. Staff so friendly. Everything was so easy and well organised. Walking in the evening was so peaceful. One thing, I forgot a hygiene item but there is no shop for essentials. But of course staff supplied item free of charge."
