"Hotel is amazing, it is a short taxi ride away from the old town of dubrovnik but there's still nice restaurants and bars around Gruz. Could not fault the hotel, very clean, staff friendly, breakfast good quality. Faultless"

"Really nice stay here. Received a welcome message prior to our stay which was a nice touch. Reception staff friendly on arrival. Good location about 15 minutes walk from the city walls and old town, and 20 minutes to the marina. Rooms spacious and comfy with (very) big bed, although a little dated. Acceptably equipped bathroom (although the step in to the bath/shower could be challenging for some). The hotel bar gets busy in the evening with locals as well as hotel guests as the food is great in there. The breakfast room gets busy in the mornings but always managed to get a table. The food in the breakfast room is acceptable, but not great. "

"This was our 3rd stay at the luxurious Hotel Excelsior and our number one preference for Dubrovnik. Everything about this hotel is absolutely amazing from the views to the facilities and most of all the staff and service provided. I can’t wait for our next visit to Croatia."

"Lovely hotel. Extremely polite staff. Beautiful spa facilities. Breakfast was a good selection and of good quality. We had room service as a late flight in and the steak sandwich was the best I'd eaten! Hotel absolutely spotless. Couldn't find fault with anything, wouldn't hesitate to return to the hotel and this area, nice strolls along the beach/sea. Quiet location with a few eateries and supermarket."
