"The Lumina is a really nice place to stay. The reason i didnt give 5 stars is because for a one bedroom unit, they say theres a "pull-out" couch. There is not. There is a very short convertible couch that folds down. No mattress. So unless you are 4 feet tall, your legs will not fit because of the armrests. It was incredibly frustrating to assume there'd be a proper pullout couch with an actual mattress for an adult guest, and then realize a short couch was all that was available. They do not...

"It was good! The wall paper was coming off and it smelled like moisture but it was because they had a tropical storm. The parking is good and it’s safe because you can leave it there if you want to walk to the beach which is like 5 minutes walking. The guards were friendly and thorough, which made our stay feel even more comfortable."

"The ranch and accommodations were just as described. The cabana was comfy and clean, the kitchen is in a separate building and there is no fridge but I was able to borrow a cooler to store our food. The ranch and cabanas are powered by solar energy and on demand hot water. The food at the restaurant is creative and delicious and prepared by the chef, the prices were comparable to a good Canadian restaurant, it’s a family run operation and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I told the front desk that the stovetop (estufa) in our room wouldn’t work and a couple of days later I told the girl who cleaned the room that it still didn’t work. She got on her phone right away and told someone but again nothing was fixed. We stayed there for 8 nights and it would have been nice to cook something for a change. "

Breakfast is average for what you’d get out of a hotel. Pool is good, with chairs around for sun tanning. We did see quite a few of very small ant like bugs throughout the room, but not so much that we were concerned. Don’t know that we’d be eager to book again, but would recommend considering it if the price fits your budget. "
