We arrived at 10 am. It was clear that the hotel was not full the day before. Still, the hotel refused to give us a room until 4 pm, six hours later. In my experience of 100+ hotels around the world, this is a first. We also had to pay $20 extra to prolong the check-out from 10 am to 12, also a first. Normal check out time in the rest of the world is 12.

A great hotel at a reasonable price.
The Toyoko Inn was a pleasant business hotel. The location was fantastic. You’re situated right by the Shinkansen station, close to a convenience store and a couple of cafes. The service is good too. The room was very clean and in good repair. It’s a business hotel, so it’s small by western standards, but quite adequate. The price was reasonable too.
