"I had not been a fan of onsens before this property. It was large enough that I didn’t feel claustrophobic or uncomfortable. The different pools and size allowed me to enjoy it for a couple of hours and not be bored. Moreover, it being at foot of Hell Valley made it a memorable site."

"Very big hotel with open calm spaces to relax and enjoy music and a buffet of coffee tea and small snacks - felt like I could really unwind. Just a small note that English is not a language the staff speaks, so need to brush up on a little Japanese or rely on those Google translators ! But all are eager to please, and it’s a pleasure to experience the politeness and customer care of their culture. Their dinners are very authentic and delicious. Onsens are wonderful with very clean atmosphere."

"We had stayed here about 5 years ago. Best thing is the small number of rooms so there are no crowds. Great location close to Jigokudani and shopping/dining street. Somewhat older property but kept in nice condition. Loved the private open-air onsen in our room overlooking a stream. Excellent service. "

"The food was amazing from the dinner to breakfast. Rooms were large & our bath had its own onsen tub. Make sure you inquire & make a reservation for the shuttle from Sapporo station to the Ryokan because it is a very far distance into the countryside."
