"Incredible and unique experience to stay at this property! It was VERY VERY cold though (mid Feb). No real heating aside from space heaters dispersed around the temple. We are Canadians and used to the cold and at times it was uncomfortable. Despite this, we’d stay again. Our kids loved the rice ball making class and we did the spirit awakening experience as well which was very cool. "

"Very traditional Japanese hotel. Enjoyed the experience but as an American, I didn’t think the food was very good and I typically love Japanese food. There was an excessive use of gelatin coating on many of the dishes. Also, 2.25 hours for dinner was too long. We waited 15 mins after finishing each course to get the next one. "

"We had an amazing time at this Ryokan - traditional Japanses hotel. We had a junior suite, so spacious, itcwas so relaxing. Buffet breakfast, good selection was included. We had kimonos, socks and shoes in room and traditional sweets in room everyday with an explanation of their origin. Would recommend the teahouse evening with tea house tour. Walking takes 30 mins to castle and centre."

"This was my favorite stay out of all of my accomodations in Japan even if I was only there for a day (wish I stayed longer!). Soku-san and his wife are the kindest people ever and offered amazing hospitality. Gao is the cutest dog I've ever seen and I was super happy to get a picture with him at the end of my stay. "We stayed in the family suite. The design was well thought out and the beds were comfortable. The location was across the street from a 7 Eleven which was super convenient. There is a ramen place next door. It is a close walk to the bus station and you can walk from the hotel into town. Overall it was a really pleasant stay for a family of 5."

Great Stay & Value, Wonderful Amenities

"Great location as it was close to attractions, bus line, train station and restaurants. It was a beautiful hotel. Bed was comfortable. They provided excellent amenities that are rare to receive back in the US. Loved having a refrigerator, microwave and washer/dryer. Only wish there was a second chair with a backrest not just a stool to sit on at the table in the room. Would readily stay here again. "

"SOKI Hotel is beautiful and has great amenities! The rooms are very clean comfortable and have a nice view of the surrounding area. The public baths are nice as well. The Omicho market is right across the street. There are also multiple beautiful shrines within close walking distance. I will definitely be back! "
