"My sister, brother-in-law and I stayed at the Shell House for Thanksgiving this year but also to have a small memorial for my mom who passed away in August. It was the perfect place to be together and remember her and celebrate her favorite place be, the MS Gulf Coast, where she grew up. The place has everything and even though the setting is perfect, and the decor is just beautiful, it has a feeling of "home" and that is what we miss the most about our mama. "Our experience was amazing. We were pleasantly surprised at the decor and all the things included in our room. The property was so clean, the tub was sparkling white and the dishes, microwave and Keurig was such a nice touch. The street construction outside was our only complaint because it was so loud. Other then that we will definitely return and hope for a different room everytine. "

Pay too much for limited amenities.

"Overall, this is a great resort. However, they need to update the bunk beds because they make a lot of noise at night when someone is lying on them. Additionally, having only one microwave is unreasonable; I think each room should have its own. The resort has several restaurants on the property, and you may need to heat up your food. It was frustrating to see a long line for the one microwave, which seemed excessive."
