"This was a very memorable place that I visited. It is in the rural area of japan, you can really feel the realness of the area. It's in gifu however it's definitely not a tourist trap area. The owners of the establishment reminded me of my grandmother. You are not getting a hotle with this stay more of a B&B, it definitely felt like I a was sleeping over a japanese grandma's house. They also gave grate advice on a nice local restaurant at the bottom of a locals Mt that you can hike after to see...

"Wonderful experience! A stately & historical large ryokan nested on the eastern hill slope of Gero town. My second stay at this ryokan & will continue to stay there next time I am in Gero. Very good vista of the town in the morning or evening. Very large garden & landscape, with tall tress & seasonal flower trees.or bushes.. a beautiful & varied feast for the eyes & senses if one come at different seasons... Has its own hotel museum to showcase it's checkered history & early artifacts, etc....

"This would be the best choice if you are looking for an authentic traditional Japanese accommodation. The hotel is very clean and our room comes with a balcony overlooking the Hida River. "The hotel was larger than what I expected. I was told there were limited time to check in, if I missed the time I might need to check in the next day, so I thought the hotel was very small. But it was a bit complicate to change elevators to locate the restaurants and different onsens. There were free parking and the parking lot was quite close to the hotel building."
