"NO TATTOOS. Is the first sign you see when checking in. Perhaps if you have a small discrete tattoo, they will still permit you to use their hot-baths on site. Ideal for couples, seniors, less so for families with children. The beds were quite hard. The in-room food service was very good, as was the breakfast buffet. Both indoor and outdoor onsen was very nice, with the outdoor one having a nice view of Gifu Castle. "

"This was a very memorable place that I visited. It is in the rural area of japan, you can really feel the realness of the area. It's in gifu however it's definitely not a tourist trap area. The owners of the establishment reminded me of my grandmother. You are not getting a hotle with this stay more of a B&B, it definitely felt like I a was sleeping over a japanese grandma's house. They also gave grate advice on a nice local restaurant at the bottom of a locals Mt that you can hike after to see...

"We loved our time in Gifu! The ryokan was in a lovely quiet part of Gifu surrounded front and back by parks. The staff spoke a little English and we even less Japanese but it didn’t matter- they were so helpful and kind and so friendly -they even did our laundry and drove us to the train station as part of the service!!! There is an onsen - on the top floor. Everything very clean and old world traditional. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. "

"夜御飯食べにフロントで教えて頂いた居酒屋はやはり盆休み、、。近くでやってたのはインド料理。。また、雨降りそうでしたが、レンタル傘なさそうだったので、傘無しで行きましたが、帰りは土砂降りの中、大変でした。 風呂は悪くはなく、帰りは近くの駐車場まで送って頂けたのは、雨強かったので、助かりました。玄関出たところで、たまたま良い運転手さんに会えたから良かったです。"
