Beautiful setting and big rooms close to ferry and town center.
Great two nights at the beautiful house on chase creek. Our room was delightful, clean and the owner even gave us an upgrade to a more spacious room! Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!
The owner is very friendly and helpful. He even upgraded the room without additional fee. The rooms are so clean and organized with nice thick towels and amenities. Free coffee and tea were available with a water server, microwave, and a little sink to wash dishes. The area is so quiet and peaceful although some good restaurants and ferry port are in walking distance. Highly recommended.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Even for Labor Day weekend, this was way over-priced at a total of $467 per night -- a small room with hardly space for the bed, and none of the ordinary amenities like TV and Wi-Fi (apparently in all four rooms) and breakfast consisting of DIY coffee. Making contact with the owner to check in was mostly for his convenience since we had to agree ahead of time to be there when he was. Returning after our first day we found the room had not been made up and were told he had "forgotten" to tell us we needed to request it since it had been made optional with (long past) Covid. Not an experience we wish to repeat.
Beautiful view and excellent location. A short walk to the ferry to Greenport and a short drive to preserves. Owner more than accommodating. I will visit again.
Covenient to island locations, great location, quiet

House at Chase Creek
We thought the setting was nice. However I believe we could have found another property with more amenities for the same price. We recognize that finding a place to stay on Shelter Island is pricey. We had the most problem with communication & the lack of interest in providing any hospitality.
Bill the host is friendly and helpful, though no one was around when we arrived and it was 10 minutes before he returned my call. The house overlooks the creek in a peaceful, picturesque neighborhood. Bicycles are available for free outside. Room #3 was cozy and had a spacious shower stall.
We loved staying at Bill's place, which must be the prettiest house one the island.
He recommended the hammock as one of Shelter Island's best features, and he wasn't wrong. We hope you go back someday soon!
