Summary:
Located in Shandaken NY, Chateau Lodge is a recently renovated house that has the thoughtful charm to be your home away from home, but also includes many of the in-home amenities you might expect from a resort hotel. Nestled just below Shandaken Wild Forest, this house is only a 12 min drive to Belleayre Mountain, 25 min drive to Hunter Mountain, and approximately 40 min drive to Windham Mountain.

The Space:
Sleeping Arrangements
Chateau Lodge - Ski Shandaken has 8 traditional bedrooms and can sleep 16 guests. With 5 King Size Bedrooms, 2 Queen Size Bedrooms, and 1 bedroom with 2 double beds, you will find room for your entire group to spread out. All bedrooms feature Casper Mattresses, quality linens and are thoughtfully decorated. Smart TVs are in every bedroom as well where you can easily sign into your Netflix , Hulu, or other streaming account. All bedrooms have spacious closets with shelving so you can comfortably unpack for your stay. Each room has its own climate control so that guests can adjust to their individual preference.
The Kitchen
The Kitchen is equipped with all new appliances and finishes as well as cooking utensils, pots and pans, general spices, and basically all the tools you need to make morning pancakes, spaghetti bolognese dinner, and everything in between. (Groceries not provided.) For morning coffee there is a drip coffee maker with glass carafe, you are welcome to use your own flavors as well. You will find all the dish ware, serve ware, and drink ware you need for such a large group to dine, but don’t worry, we have you covered with a dishwasher too.
Bathrooms
There are 4 bathrooms in Chateau Lodge, one of which has a large bathtub, perfect for filling with bubbles or salts to kick back and relax. Every shower has a rain head and body sprayers and all of our bathrooms are stocked with toiletries, a hair dryer in each, and super plush towels.

In the main entertaining area is a Living Room adjacent to the kitchen and dining room. Here you will find a comfy sofa, coffee table, lounge chairs and a 65” Smart TV, perfect for family and friends to gather around and relax.
Downstairs in the basement is our large movie/game room. With a 65” Smart TV and a Pool Table your group is set for endless indoor entertainment.
Also in the basement, you will find a full sized washer and dryer for your use.
Outdoors
Step out the back door and you will find yourself on an expansive wood deck with table and seating for 12. If BBQ-ing is your thing, we have you covered with a propane grill. An extra tank is provided in case the one there runs low and needs to be swapped out. Just a few more steps into the backyard is a large fire pit surrounded with Adirondack chairs for your entire group to gather around (limited firewood supply). Also in the backyard, you will find a wood pergola with a bench, egg chair, and more… perfect for leisurely hanging out in the outdoors.
On the property, you will find parking for up to 10 cars.
Guest Access:
Guest can enjoy the privacy of the entire house, private deck, fire pit and seating areas around the yard.
The Neighborhood:
There are two markets nearby as well as a wine & liquor store for your convenience. This house is so well located that you will find great Food & Drink options moments away, including Brio’s, Phoenicia Diner, Oakleys Woof Fire & Pizza Grill, J Roccos Creekside Grill, and Woodstock Brewing. Just a little further away (25 or so minute drive) you’ll find an even broader assortment including Hunter Mountain Brewery, The Mud Club, and Silvia.
If you are looking for the great outdoors, there’s something for everyone - year round. At Belleayre (just 15 minutes away) you’ll find skiing in the winter, and come summer - swimming, boating, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, picnicking, horseshoe pits, volleyball, basketball, fishing, great relaxation and so much more. Catskill Thunder Gondola to the summit of Belleayre Mountain provides breath taking views of the Catskill Forest Preserve.
A slightly further away you will find Hunter Mountain with 320 skiable acres, 67 trails, 13 lifts, and Hunter Mountain’s nearly 1000 feet long tubing hill, a “no-skills” fun activity for the whole family. Drive out a little more and you will find yourself at Windham Mountain with 85 skiable acres and 54 trails over two peaks, 6 terrain parks and 11 lifts. These are just a few of the fun activities that away you when you book your stay at Chateau Lodge.
The location is perfect for winter skiing, sledding, and snowboarding. In the fall, hike below the beautiful foliage, and in the spring/summer be sure to check out the nearby swimming holes more hiking, antiquing, and local farms & vineyards.

Nearest train station is: Rhinecliff – 47min drive from the house.

CHECK IN
The check-in will be contactless and keyless. Before you arrive, we will send you the code to the door lock.
PARKING
Please feel free to utilize the entire driveway for your vehicles throughout the length of your stay - it can hold up to 8 cars. Note that we are not responsible for personal items left in your car.
HOUSE ACCESS
The entire house is yours for the length of your stay. Feel free to enjoy the private deck, fire pit, hammock, and seating areas around the yard. Note that this home does sit along a main road and occasionally the traffic can be heard from inside.
NEARBY
There is a fire station nearby and you can occasionally hear the sirens go off. It's rarely a disturbance, but don't be alarmed.
OUTSIDE GUESTS
If you'd like to add an additional guest to the booking, please be sure to add them to the reservation or reach out to Stay at Lina team if your stay has already begun. We can typically accommodate up to the max number of guests noted on the original listing and no more. We cannot offer customer service for extra people who don’t have an official reservation through the platform, and any liability waivers won’t apply. NO PARTIES OR EVENTS
SECURITY
Stepping out of the house? Keep your belongings safe and secure by remembering to close and lock all the doors and windows before leaving the property.
CHECK OUT
Our check-out time is at 11:00 AM. Please make sure to do the dishes (it’s ok to place the remaining dishes in the dishwasher and start the cycle), take the trash out and close the door before leaving. Don’t forget to do a final walk thru of the house to make sure you haven’t left behind any personal items.
RECYCLING
Guests can leave the recycling items on a separate bag in the house. Cleaning team will take care of it after guests leave.
ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
Please note that we are not responsible for any items left behind. Lina will make every effort to search and find your forgotten items after you check out but we do not guarantee if they can be found.
HOT TUB
Our property does list a Hot Tub as an amenity and is typically available for use. In rare instances, a prior guest may mistreat the tub, requiring us to put it out of service until we can have it properly cleaned out. Because of this we don't guarantee its availability. Please note that we provide towels for the maximum number of guests the house can accommodate, these towels are also for the hot tub too.
FRIENDS OF MOTHER NATURE
Please note that we are located in the countryside, surrounded by trees and foliage. Although we have regularly scheduled pest control services in and around the home and yard, you are still likely to see a few insects or other living beings from Mother Nature. We ask that you do your best to keep outside doors closed as much as possible to limit the amount of outdoor creatures from sneaking in.
PETS
We love dogs and allow them in our houses, but please let us know if your are bringing your furry friend(s) along. Please understand that all of our furniture and décor is new and dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds. You will be responsible for any visible wear or damage your dogs may cause. The maximum number of dogs we allow is two.
REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
We cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, air conditioning, appliances, TVs/media equipment, stereo equipment or pools/spas. Please report any inoperative equipment to us promptly. We will make every reasonable effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. If you demonstrate that the problem persists after being given phone instructions by our team, a maintenance service professional may be dispatched. NO REFUNDS OR RENT REDUCTIONS WILL BE MADE DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS, INTERRUPTIONS OF UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS OR CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREA. WHILE LINA WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO REPAIR ANY MAINTENANCE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER, IT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE FIXED DURING A GUEST STAY, AS THE COMPANY MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH HOME WARRANTIES. Lina will always look for alternative solutions to ensure and prioritize guest comfort.
