This location worked well for their organised morning tour (which eas good) and a self-guided trip to Sesriem Canyon. "The Elegant Desert Camp has beautiful grounds, including an amazingly isolated feeling desert camp. However, in the summer months, the heat in these luxurious tents is almost unbearable (it easily exceeds 40C/104F during the day) and there are no fans, let alone air conditioners. While temperatures do drop overnight, they remain above 27C/80F for most of it. Fans would help. "We hadn't originally intended staying in Solitaire, but rescheduling issues meant we slotted this lodge in at the last minute. I hadn't been optimistic about what we'd find - after all, Solitaire is a small, very remote place. But I was pleasantly surprised.
