"The hotel is in an excellent location, close to shops and restaurants. Our room was quite comfortable, except for the bed being a little too low but we definitely had a good nights sleep. The breakfast was very good, eggs and bacon to order and a lot of other choices. The only thing that I would let other travellers know is that there are stairs, not many."

"Very unique and comfortable place. The bed was perfect for my bad back. The staff of girls were helpful and very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. You order from the list of the different foods and drinks. The girls did a wonderful job preparing and serving breakfast. "

"Beautiful Portuguese Casa with lovely garden, pool, and breakfast/rec room. Amazing collections of various items on display everywhere you look. The hostess. Ari, was wonderful and so very helpful. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Rio Maior is only an hour or so from Lisbon and so much more relaxing to stay and enjoy the surrounding sites. Would definitely recommend Casa do Foral. They pay attention to details and will make your stay so very enjoyable. "

"First the property is beautifully kept, clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. The views of the ocean from the back deck on the third floor are amazing, and bring “off season” the price was exceptional. "Oceane Guest House is a wonderful place to stay. Conveniently located, you can park your car and walk everywhere, near to restaurants and the surfers down on the beach. Great views, beautiful interior rooms, kitchen & dining area and the hospitality from Cathy was simply great. New building, built to very high standards and furnished accordingly. "The old farmhouse is amazing with lots of antiques and the property is so pretty. All the amazing details make this the perfect, relaxing spot to spend a few days. The rooms are quaint with all the special extras, and the reception from Anabelle and Jean=Pierre was wonderful! We had a great breakfast with pastry and charcouterie, etc. Couldn't ask for more!"

"A perfect pool amid a lush green retreat! This peaceful locale is an easy drive to Alcobaça, Obidos and Nazare. The hosts are delightful, as are their homemade muffins and eggs each morning. The new organic mattresses were the most comfortable we have enjoyed during our entire trip."

Cons: Bungalows have ZERO light in the kitchen and minimal lighting in the room. We had to use our headlamp to cook. "Accommodation was very tired, cracked bathroom surfaces, rusty radiators, broken kitchen cupboard and bin, lack of glasses and cutlery. Staff at the clubhouse restaurant were unfriendly and we felt like we were too much trouble for them. "

"The hotel is in an excellent location, right inside the castle wall. You could easily walk to stores and restaurants. If you want there are many entrances where you can climb the wall. The only con is that cars are not allowed to come to the hotel making it a bit difficult to unload your luggage especially in the rain. However everyone at the hotel goes above and beyond. They actually came to help with our luggage. Filipina and Sofia were just wonderful. Filipina helped us change rooms, even gave us a free lunch and reserved a taxi for us on our departure. Sofia helped us with the TV in the living room and kept us posted when there was an issue with the pipes. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast as very good. This is our second time at this hotel and I would not think of going anywhere else. "
