"Very unique and comfortable place. The bed was perfect for my bad back. The staff of girls were helpful and very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. You order from the list of the different foods and drinks. The girls did a wonderful job preparing and serving breakfast. "

"The hotel is in an excellent location, close to shops and restaurants. Our room was quite comfortable, except for the bed being a little too low but we definitely had a good nights sleep. The breakfast was very good, eggs and bacon to order and a lot of other choices. The only thing that I would let other travellers know is that there are stairs, not many."

"Beautiful Portuguese Casa with lovely garden, pool, and breakfast/rec room. Amazing collections of various items on display everywhere you look. The hostess. Ari, was wonderful and so very helpful. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Rio Maior is only an hour or so from Lisbon and so much more relaxing to stay and enjoy the surrounding sites. Would definitely recommend Casa do Foral. They pay attention to details and will make your stay so very enjoyable. "

"Oceane Guest House is a wonderful place to stay. Conveniently located, you can park your car and walk everywhere, near to restaurants and the surfers down on the beach. Great views, beautiful interior rooms, kitchen & dining area and the hospitality from Cathy was simply great. New building, built to very high standards and furnished accordingly. "The old farmhouse is amazing with lots of antiques and the property is so pretty. All the amazing details make this the perfect, relaxing spot to spend a few days. The rooms are quaint with all the special extras, and the reception from Anabelle and Jean=Pierre was wonderful! We had a great breakfast with pastry and charcouterie, etc. Couldn't ask for more!"

"A perfect pool amid a lush green retreat! This peaceful locale is an easy drive to Alcobaça, Obidos and Nazare. The hosts are delightful, as are their homemade muffins and eggs each morning. The new organic mattresses were the most comfortable we have enjoyed during our entire trip."

Cons: Bungalows have ZERO light in the kitchen and minimal lighting in the room. We had to use our headlamp to cook. "Good size apartment, close to the beach. Washer/dryer was handy. For such a beautiful part of Portugal there was a disappointing view out of the apartment - looking at other buildings and being overlooked by them. Certainly not the stunning ocean view shown in all their marketing material. Also disappointing not to be able to control the heating given the cold wet weather in mid March - it did feel a bit cold in the apartment at times. "

Charming boutique hotel

"Beautiful property inside the walls of the medieval section of the city. We were greeted for a very late check in by friendly Natalia who offered us the local cherry liqueur. She was very helpful and attentive. This property is charming and I would definitely be back if we visit this area again. All city attractions are within walking distance. Make sure to tour the city walls and the Main Street. Note that you cannot enter the old city with a car so parking is outside the walls and luggage is carried inside. This can be challenging with big suitcases but worth the effort. "

"We enjoyed the large room tastefully decorated with amenities. Had a little issue with the tv remote which was resolved promptly by the front desk clerk. All staff very friendly and very polite and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Location perfect, close to sights and shops. "

"This is most likely the nicest hotel in Obidos, located in the former medieval Moorish Castle and subsequent Bishops Palace, in the heart of the old city. Note that you must park outside the walls in the free lot behind a nearby bank. The hotel provides a golf cart shuttle for your luggage. The rooms are comfortable. Good included breakfast in the Bishops Palace. "
