"Excellent location with great views, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great breakfast and rooftop views. Very comfortable room and bed. I had read a lot of complaints about the pillows - we loved the memory foam pillows! As for the see through glass door shower and bathroom - not ideal but perfectly fine. It's separate from the bed area. Highly recommend this hotel"

"The Palace is amazing and it was a thrill to stay. Everything was perfect, from checking in to wonderful grounds to delicious dinner. We enjoyed spend quiet time in the bar and wandering the gardens. Highly recommend "

"We LOVED our stay here! Right from when we checked in, we got a glass of champagne and a snack, followed by a wonderful breakfast hand delivered to our room the next morning. Everything was spotless, and the staff was very welcoming. The only thing that you should be aware of is there is no lift, so if you can’t do stairs, ask for a main floor suite. Highly recommend this place in Coimbra! "

"If your looking for modern conveniences this is not the hotel for you, but if you want 1920s charm, this is 5*. No fridge, coffee, satellite TV, but great charm.and a pleasant breakfast. Very friendly staff, old carpets and I think it's great."

"Coimbra is a very busy city with a lot of traffic that clearly creates ongoing parking challenges and general congestion. The property itself is hard to access but once you’re in, is quite good. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was excellent with a particularly good bathroom. The hotel has many group bookings and insufficient elevators so expect a wait at reception or getting to/ from your room. "The unit we had was on the 3rd floor but since the elevator was temporarily out of service, Andre, the manager carried our bags up for us. He was most accommodating. He hand the night assistant, Phillipe is also very helpful. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and there is free parking at the Convento Sao Francisco is a short 5 min walk away and it is open from 7am to Midnight so we parked our car there and either walked or took cabs to any place we wanted. "This was a terrific place to stay. The apartment was clean and spacious with a full kitchen and washing machine. Check in was at a nearby hotel with a parking garage just across the street. It was not a problem for us but there is no elevator to the apartment. The climb up about 30 stairs was worth the view of the main walking area from the apartment. "
