"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. However, I do need to mention if you are sensitive to smell you might notice the slight scent of smoke. "It looks a bit old on first sight but the onsen and sauna are new and in very good condition. There are a lot of things to do around the hotel and everything is in walking distance, metro is also only a 5min walk away."

"Overall fantastic stay. Only complaint was that the bed was ROCK SOLID. As in no foam padding just plywood. I had to sleep on top of the comforter provided to give myself some cushioning. But otherwise not a single issue:)"
