"The best B&B in the Lakes! We stayed for two nights in Dec 2024 and could not fault this place & will definitely be returning. It is finished to a high standard throughout, very comfortable and the staff are brilliant. It’s a great base for exploring the Lakes, either hiking, cycling, running etc and there is a boot room to dry wet clothes etc. The breakfast is delicious with a great selection including a hot fresh cooked to order option. "What an amazing hostel! Perfect location and lovely building, The panelled lounge full of lovely leather sofas, books and a roaring fire was particularly fine. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the beer was good and the full english veggie breakfast the ideal precursor to some stiff walking. "

"I stayed in found floor room. Looked tired and is need of decorating. Shower was adequate-plenty of hot water but not very powerful. Windows needed cleaning. Room on whole was clean although stain on duvet cover. Bed comfy. Not staff at hotel so you had to phone through to another hotel for assistance. No food available and a list of take away places for breakfast. "
