"We stayed in one of the cave rooms for 2 nights. Loved this place.! Location is perfect! Everything is within walking distance. Also there is a rooftop patio where you can enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the sunset and Matera. Francisco makes this place extra special. His enthusiasm for Matera is infectious. "The hotel is in a great location to explore Matera, and some of the rooms are in actual caves (it's a great experience for a night or two) without windows. These rooms are very nice and have a good spacious shower. Some rooms are not in the check-in building and so a walk down some stone steps may be required. "

"The staff was fabulous; both helpful and kind. We were unaware that caves are humid, which was our naivete. Breakfast was ample. Our cave was large and had lots of places to sit comfortably, inside and out. The only reason the stay was not 100% excellent was the humidity inside the cave despite running dehumidifiers and air conditioning. Having a sweet dog on premises was a bonus!"
