"I didn’t realize that the property was far from the strip. Expedia said 18 min walk but the walk is down many streets. There are no restaurants nearby, we had to hop in the car to get anywhere. It was a close drive to carvoeiro downtown and a good location to do hiking but everything must be accessed with a car. "Over all this hotel suited my needs....my mobility is hampered after suffering a stroke...so my room allocation was the 18th floor...be prepared to speak fluent languages but not english....when you check in....then be prepared too get a taxi too another hotel 10 minutes away...why they don't issue the key's at the tarik as they used too is a complete mystery...then there's the 9 digit code you have to tap into your door handle...take some one small with you...it'll help."

"Honestly when I read the reviews about this place after my husband booked, I was very sceptical. People said it was dirty, had cockroaches, no hot water. None of this was true. About the hot water, you must realize that water heaters in Europe are half the size of North American ones. We had plenty of hot water. The only thing we didn't like are the beds are a little hard but it was the same at the previous place we stayed. We made do. Also tile floors are always cold which I'm not fond of but...

"We had a very relaxing 11 day stay. The apartment was exactly how it was advertised, with the beautiful sunset being spectacular every evening. Full use of the beautiful swimming pool, and the hosts Fred and Felicitas were very friendly and helpful but were not at all intrusive. A car is definitely required but it does not take long to get to the lovely beaches and restaurants around. Thank you both for a wonderful stay at your lively home."

"The property was very clean! The balcony was an added plus. The kitchen had pretty much everything you needed. There were manuals to help you operate the appliances. It was close enough to walk to shopping and dining. The owner communicated quickly and often. I would suggest getting new pillows for the bed! Also, make sure the place is stocked with ample toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc. "
