"We stayed for 10 days in the property as a base to explore Madeira. The property was perfect for all 5 of us, lots of space, well equipped and immaculate. Anna is the host and is the loveliest person. She had baked us xakes for our arrival and supplied us with extra beach towels when needed. She also provided basic food and fruit., lots of advice about the area including a local farmers market we would never have known about. We loved our stay and visited most of the island. "You can’t stay at a better property than this. It was absolutely amazing. We loved it so much! My whole family stayed there. It was super clean, easy check-in, incredible views, and in a great location. We will definitely be coming back."

"The location is beautiful. Yes: You will hike up and down but you will love the space, the view, the cleanliness. The friendliness of the man who checked us in and the accommodation of an earlier check-in. The water pressure in the shower and the inability for it to get truly hot are our only real concerns. I imagine the hosts will work on this."

Very close to the seaside, 5 minutes to Plaza Madeira, big shopping center where you can get all you need. Ana is very responsive to any queries and helpful. "Exactly as represented. Vitor assisted getting us settled and with his knowledge of local feasts and happenings. House had EVERYTHING you could possibly need while staying there. Clean and quiet. Vitor assisted us with baggage to and from the rental. Three minute walk uphill from the street parking, as noted in their VRBO ad. Would stay here again "

"Perfect for just the two of us. Tastefully decorated and very roomy. Off the beaten tourist track which suited us down to the ground. Another couple staying with us, though, would've presented bathroom difficulties. Steep flight of stairs to bedrooms could be tricky for anyone with mobility problems. "The quality of this hotel was superb, better than the 5* we stayed in previously. The spa facilities are immaculate (heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, ice bucket, four seasons shower etc.) – the only thing is it can get quite slippery due to the tiling so recommend wearing slippers/sea shoes. Breakfast was nice. We had the buffet one night and it was also good. Free shuttle service to Funchal seafront included. We plan to return! "

A Gem of a Hotel

"A wonderful surprise this hotel turned out to be. Loved the old world feel of the reception area in the main hotel and the pool & sea view are exceptional. The staff was so knowledgeable and took time to show us about. We had dinner included but were not able to make it so, lunch was provided for us. The breakfast buffet is the best I have seen in Portugal with eggs made to order, warm breads and wonderful fruit salad to mention a few items. Overall, I would come back just to relax by the pool. Downtown Funchal is easily walk able as is the waterfront. The hotel can be very proud of their staff and their genuine concern for the stay of the tourist."

"Although our room was a little smaller than anticipated, the views from the balconies may up for it! The staff are friendly, and very accommodating. Stay here and enjoy a wonderful Madeira experience!"
