"This is a very nice hotel with beautiful views of the ocean. The dining area similarly has open views of the ocean, giving a very calming atmosphere. The indoor pool is huge, with very nice tiles, one of the nicest that I have seen. The staff are very attentive and helpful. This was a very relaxed stay."

Tours pick up from hotel.Would have liked to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room but not by far a deal breaker.You will not be disappointed.I write this as a single traveller."

"This historical property is located in the Terra Nostra Garden Park. The garden is huge and delightful to explore. Even though the large thermal pool was closed due to renovation, we were able to enjoy the smaller thermal jacuzzis. We also enjoyed the dining room for breakfast and dinner. "

"Friendly staff, especially after a few days in the hotel. Great advice for restaurants. Very clean and excellent location. Incredible views and hikes just outside of the hotel. Dining options around holidays were limited and service was lacking. Perhaps it was due to holidays, but the special dinner was expensive and really did not match our expectations, or depart far from breakfast (which is quite nice). Excellent spa and a good value massages."

"What a beautiful property! The views are stunning everywhere on the property from the office to the restaurant to the rooms. I stayed in a private pool room and it was perfect. Very clean, smelled lovely, quiet, and relaxing. Room service is fast and the staff is friendly. I wish there was an option to rent a golf cart to use around the property because it was cold when we visited and the walk to get our taxi was torture. But otherwise absolutely no complaints. Can’t wait to visit again. "

"Since I was benefitted from reading others’ comments, want to document my experience in case it is helpful for anyone in future. First, the most positive is the location. To south, it takes 10 minutes to walk to waterfront/downtime. To north, walk less 10 minutes for gas station and a large shopping complex in which you may find food court, grocery store, etc. During peak season, probably convenient to walk around instead driving and trying to find a parking spot. I love it when I find natural frames like this one, shot from inside a cave at Parque Terra Nostra in Furnas, São Miguel.

The beautiful garden is built over a massive 10 hectares and it would be quite easy to spend the best part of a day here. There are walking trails, waterfalls, and a massive amount of plants and flowers to photograph and enjoy.

Definitely one of the best photo spots on the island if you're into nature and fancy yourself as a bit of a botanist 🌿🌺
