"It’s an old building but it was clean, staff were very friendly, everything was good, except that there’s no air conditioning and the fan was very noisy, another aspect is the beds are very hard, if they could change that, it would be great. Breakfast was excellent. "

"The beautiful flowers and plants in the facility were wonderful! Going for a swim in the pool near the reception was amazing, especially against the mountainous backdrop. The rotation is also gorgeous and worth checking out! Starting here was like staying at a beautiful nature museum. The two reception staff who served us were extremely helpful and friendly. They allowed us to check out one hour later than usual and invited us to continue using their facilities and amenities after checkout! "

"The most welcoming and kind hearted host! We arrived late and she was so accomodating, great communications and made us feel at home instantly. The room was spotless and furnished with everything you would want - lovely welcome gifts also! Wish we could have stayed longer! Great location for PR1 sunrise hike the next morning. Keep an eye out for the goats! "

"The staff is absolutely exceptional. Very kind, polite, helpful and the nicest people. The location is pretty good too - about a 15-20min walk to old Funchal. The walk back could be longer due to the uphill but nothing too crazy. Parking can be tricky but I never had an issue parking at the lot that was designated for the buildings but not for the hotel. The hotel could really use an upgrade on their rooms however. Possibly a fan as it can get quite hot. The walls are very thin and you can hear...

"The hotel is very clean and in a beautiful location, the room was a good size. The food was not really to our liking but there are plenty of other restaurants in Funchal. I would not recommend hiring a car if you are a nervous driver, the roads are very narrow and steep! I was disappointed by the service I received by the staff at Our Madeira who own the hotel, but the staff at the hotel itself I could not fault. "Excellent stay with Joaquim and co whom are very welcoming. The room and property are kept clean and tidy. There are fantastic views of the surrounding area of Sao Vicente from the property as well. I would be more then happy to stay here again. Approx 10 min walk to the local cafes. 30 min walk to Sao Vicente town/waterfront, and approx 40 mins walk back due to the incline. It is an ideal location if you have a rental car! X"

"The kindness and warmth my daughter and I experienced at this hotel was unprecedented. Breakfast was included and was unexpected and appreciated. We loved the roof top patio and even tried the pool amidst an unexpected rain shower. Clean and pleasant. "

"ich musste im apartment zu viele ameisen und andere 6-beiner rausschmeissen, als dass ich eine bessere bewertung geben könnte. auch ist das apartment extrem laut, man ist quasi mitten in der bar, welche auf der gegenüberliegenden strassenseite liegt. auch hört man alles aus den anderen wohnungen. mit 60/nacht zu teuer für was es ist, zumal weder gelüftet werden kann noch die sonne das apartment jemals erreichen wird."

"You won’t regret staying here! One of the best beds I’ve slept while traveling. Full kitchen. Access to washer and dryer. It felt great to get out of Funchal and be somewhere more ‘relaxing.’ With that said, you still have access to restaurants / market, etc. Additionally, there is so much to do in the area. Highly recommend this place."

"A wonderful end to my time in Madeira. The hotel was stunning and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. My room was one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed out of all my various trips - extremely clean, well ventilated, warm and cosy and as someone who is passionate about interior styling, I really appreciated the minimalist design. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant was good and the close proximity to local restaurants and shops was a bonus too. Already dreaming about my next stay here 😍"
