At check-in, the front desk was polite and showed us to our room. We had expected a pool-side room but were advised that there were noisy parties all week and some going on until 5am so we settled for a high floor away from the noise. The room was spacious enough and set out with a large king bed, table and sofa. The bathroom was small and cramped but everything worked OK and was clean. Unfortunately the safe was broken and despite reporting it to the front desk, it was still broken when we checked out a week later. There is a flat screen TV with mostly Spanish-speaking channels but some foreign news as well. The aircon is badly positioned right next to the bed so when you are sleeping it has to be turned off or you would freeze. Housekeeping staff are friendly and thorough which is good. Breakfast seemed dis-organised and I think the management would do well to give the staff lists so that they are more consistent. Some mornings there was missing cutlery, or no butter, or no water. The toasting machine was on some days badly placed, so that toast fell out the back and on to the floor. The pool is not cleaned every day and by Sunday the water level had dropped, filters were not working as a result and the water was turning green. Not good.
I have to say I think the staff here do try but with the exception of housekeeping which is fantastically led, I think there is a clear absence of good leadership, coordination and organisation.
