"The property is very clean and modern. The room size was great as was the bathroom with a lovely big walk in shower. Our room was on the front of the property which had a direct view of the Tower of Pisa. Absolutely outstanding. The staff were very polite and the concierge spoke good English. We arrived too early to check in but we're allowed to leave our luggage with them free of charge so we could enjoy the area a little before checking in. There are no dining facilities on the premises but...

"Decided to stay here because of the 5 star reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Yes it’s the opposite side of Lucca to the train station and outside the city walls but it was only a 30 minute walk because Lucca is so tiny. Gave me the opportunity to get my bearings. And only a 5 minute walk back to the wall. Was able to check in just after 11am. Room was huge as was the bathroom & both immaculately clean. And there was a kettle! Breakfast was fantastic and laid out with great care. Lovely...

"Villa Belverde is a hidden jewel. Located on a large private lot with a beautiful garden, the accommodation is like an Italian art palace inside, with high ceilings, big windows, overstuffed chairs, fine sculptures, paintings and large mirrors on the wall, Persian rugs on the floor, and marble everywhere. There is a covered veranda and a large garden in back, with a lawn, big shade trees, a trellis with roses, garden paths, geraniums, terra cotta pots and various marble statues and busts. ...

"This is a perfectly lovely hotel. The staff is very friendly and they offer snacks and a decent breakfast with meats,cheeses, cereal and pancakes. And espresso. There are some stairs but not bad and it’s only 2 small blocks outside the gates of Lucca. The mattress was lumpy but otherwise great heat and nice and roomy. It is a very good value. "

"Beautiful refurbished older mansion turned into a charming B&B. The on site secure parking was a big plus. The entire team attending to guests was extremely helpful and friendly. Everyone always shared a warm smile and sincere greeting. Staff was at the ready with suggestions and helpful advice. Excellent coffee at breakfast.
