"I just spent a week for Thanksgiving at this incredible home. It is even more beautiful in person. The house is equipped with everything you need. The management is quick to respond. The owners checked in while I was there to see if I needed anything. Great home and great hosts. "

"We had plenty of space for 4 guys. We spent most of our time in living room or balcony. The sound of the fountain and architecture of the house made it peaceful. You have the full view of the city. The staff were helpful and communicative over WhatsApp. We asked for messages and coordinated with professionals familiar with house. There’s a bit of travel to and from San Jose or sure but it’s worth it. Always tell driver to follow the signs and the street has white stones lining the roadway....

"Great place in a great location. The views are spectacular. I would stay there again. Hosts were also very responsive and helpful. A knife sharpener would be good to have for the kitchen, as knives were extremely dull; glad I brought my Buck knife. A steamer basket would also be useful for those who prefer to steam the fine produce available."

"Our stay at Colina Paula in Barrio Mercedes was absolutely spectacular! The house was incredibly clean and fully stocked with pots, pans, cups and utensils. Manual and Meylin (caretakers who live on the font property) were very welcoming and provided us with fresh eggs, limes, and bananas. The property itself sits on 20 acres of lush rainforest plants and is absolutely stunning! The views from the house were impeccable and we could spot toucans from the rocking chair on the porch. "Lovely stay in a spacious casita. Hosts were welcoming, friendly and helpful while respecting privacy. Kitchen was clean and had everything needed to prepare some meals. Beds were comfortable. Restaurants and shops in Atenas are just minutes away. Views from the property are lovely, and we even saw toucans in the trees. Highly recommended!"

"Great location for simply relaxing. Thank you hosts for allowing us to check-in after hours. Enjoyed the view even though it will get dark after 5:30 pm. Need to wake up at 5:30 am to enjoy the sunrise."

"Casa de las Aves is a fabulous property. The views of the mountains are exceptional and the birds, butterflies, iguanas and bugs will keep you occupied the entire time. We were treated to a rare visit by Scarlet Macaws! It’s a short trip into town but it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere - in a good way. Klaas and Sandra, the property managers, were fabulous! They took care of all details, from stocking groceries to arranging transportation. All in all, a fantastic experience."
