"Great place in a great location. The views are spectacular. I would stay there again. Hosts were also very responsive and helpful. A knife sharpener would be good to have for the kitchen, as knives were extremely dull; glad I brought my Buck knife. A steamer basket would also be useful for those who prefer to steam the fine produce available."

"We had plenty of space for 4 guys. We spent most of our time in living room or balcony. The sound of the fountain and architecture of the house made it peaceful. You have the full view of the city. The staff were helpful and communicative over WhatsApp. We asked for messages and coordinated with professionals familiar with house. There’s a bit of travel to and from San Jose or sure but it’s worth it. Always tell driver to follow the signs and the street has white stones lining the roadway....

The house sits further back from the road than most houses in Costa Rica, but there is still a lot of road noise for someone coming from the United States. The property manager was pleasant, responsive, and helpful, with a good command of English. We do have some suggestions for improvement: (1) keep more towels in the bathrooms; (2) add towel racks in bathrooms to allow for drying of towels; (3) supply paper...

"We came to San Mateo to visit the area and meet with builders for our new property in San Mateo Ecovilla. Ivan and Grace are really great and were helpful with great feedback and recommendations about San Mateo. They have 5 dogs that are very well behaved and friendly, but are also well trained to stay off the terrace of the casita. We had a wonderful time and plan to stay there again."
