"Excellent care to the details of my needs, since I walk with a cane (stick.) Built for business and convenience to transportation. Not step-free for with those with disabilities who need more than I required for a stay. (for example: entrance from the street is a high step up, to a revolving glass door. Also, bar/informal restaurant has a few steps up. ) But staff are gentle and immediate in their assistance to manage these shortcomings that keep it from truly accessible by lending a hand or an arm upon which to lean.) ALL staff were excellent! My stay: 4 nights, May 2025 with a wet-shower bathroom, on the 5th floor. Elevators were quick for changes of levels. ( buffet breakfast dining was in the hotel's -1 floor, below street level.) A wonderful front desk person is Andrea, who saw to my quick change of Taxi, a box breakfast-to-go for my last day's needs, and always cheerful greeting. He is a perfect host for this hotel. Housekeeping's wonderful person, Nelle was quick to lend assistance as well as perform all her tasks. She is kind and skilled in handling the hotel's occupants. As a solo traveller, I recommend this hotel, The Starhotels Excelsior, that is geared to groups also makes an individual comfortable and welcome. I arrived by train, was delighted for the easy location directly opposite the Bologna Central Station. Then on departure, by taxi to the Bologna Marconi Airport. Perfectly managed at this busy location of the Excelsior Hotel. "

"The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly from when the booking was made to inquiries in between to check-in, our stay, then check-out! The rooms were traditional but chic. If you’re in Bologna, the hotel is in a safe location that is walkable to the centre. There are also groceries nearby."

"This Hotel is amazing courtyard to chill free washers dryers concept different than any we've seen. Only negative is I don't think they have many tourists as the Reception staff was not clear about directiions & major bus ticket problems & do it cost us a fine if 270 Euros because u have to use 2 credit cards for 2 people even if husband and wife & the bus kiosk on bus didn't work. Making this crystal clear is important.. If I were Hotel Industry ceis in Balonga I'd put pressure or a Lawyer on them to get a System that works & makes sense. Only 1 Reception person really helped us w facts maps etc & that is Lucia she was Great. Others vague & if no interest to them. Thanks Rob & Terrie "

"My wife and I had a great one week stay. The only complaint I have is that I ordered the Birthday cake in the room. This surprise was for my wife, whose birthday is on the 14th and the cake was in the room upon our arrival on the 11th. But, hey...it's cake! Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful even though my wife and I don't speak Italian. I would proudly recommend this establishment to all!"
