We spent a few nights here during Cal Poly’s family weekend. This could not have been a better location- away from the chaos of crowds here for family weekend, but only 15 minutes from campus. I will seek out this place on every trip up here!
My husband and I spent 3 nights at The Casita and had a wonderful experience. The house was too large for just the two of us, but the property was chosen for the magnificent view, which did not disappoint. We enjoyed morning coffee and afternoon wine on one of the two patios and just enjoyed the surrounding beauty and solitude. It wasn't far to drive to SLO and everything the town has to offer. Gary was a welcoming host and very responsive if we had questions. We loved the area and our stay. We will be back!
This property was clean and peaceful, with stunningly beautiful views out the front and back and plenty of outdoor seating to take it all in. Gary was a wonderful host, and I cannot think of anything I would improve about our stay. Although the casita feels remote, it is remarkably close to many attractions in SLO County. Our family would love to be able to stay here again.
Beautiful and relaxing SLO ranch. - heavenly retreat
We were so delighted with our stay. The photos accurately depict how beautiful the location and surroundings of this home are. Although it’s only 15-20 minutes away from the beach or downtown SLO, you feel a world away, ensconced in rolling hills, surrounded by grazing animals and groves of citrus. The owners take a lot of pride in the upkeep and we thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful touches and cleanliness throughout. We grilled on the lovely patio, animal-gazed, walked about the beautiful grounds and LOVED our stay here.
Gary and Amber are wonderful hosts! They were very accommodating and attentive to our requests. The house has spectacular views and all the accessories and comforts you could hope for. We had a great weekend and would go back anytime, it's a beautiful spot that made for a perfect long weekend!
The casita has amazing views in all directions. The house was spotless and well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. It was a very memorable stay
This is a spectacularly beautiful setting. The casita is in excellent condition and well furnished. Our hosts, Gary and Amber, were very gracious and available if needed but unobtrusive if not. Many nice touches beyond the usual. We will definitely return.
House was Amazing! A Gem of a property!
Clean, most Comfortable beds, well equipped Kitchen. Peaceful, views of surrounding hills that
went on forever! 5 STARS PLUS and
Hosts were very gracious😊
The property is so beautiful! I really enjoyed walking around the grounds and spending time with my family in the backyard at night. Great patio furniture and an overall beautiful home with a spectacular view!
The is our second time staying at the Casita. The house is perfect for our needs and the view can’t be beat. The owners are very friendly and provided excellent communication throughout the time leading up to our stay. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat right in the middle of the wine country but still close to SLO and Pismo, this is the place for you.
Our stay for a week at Gary's casita was delightful. Nestled in the hills on a ranch with spectacular views, and an easy drive to SLO. The house is very well maintained, and it had all the amenities of home, making our stay very comfortable. Nice patios to enjoy the surroundings and to relax after a day of cycling and wine tasting. Our host, Gary, is gracious and welcoming. We had a terrific time getting to know him. I will certainly return. Thank you Gary for making our vacation extra special.
We loved our stay!!! The home is so well located -- 15 minutes to town, 15 minutes to the beach, vineyards all around. The home itself is so lovely. Gary and Amber have thought of absolutely everything and were super responsive all along the way. I have stayed in many VRBO's over the years, and I simply can't recommend this place highly enough!!!
Gary and Amber’s casita is beautiful, as is the property. Everything was so clean, organized, and easy to find. The thought and care they put into making their guests feel comfortable and welcome is very apparent, including complimentary wine, cheese, and crackers. The setting was so peaceful, and my family and I made wonderful memories!
The views in the pictures do not even do this beautiful place justice! It is stunning, secluded, and super comfortable. Sitting under a tree on the patio looking at the mountain views and sipping coffee was the best. We did not want to leave! I would come back again and again!
My 3 daughters and I spent a long weekend at the casita and had a great time. Because the property is a ways out of town, we spent the days exploring SLO and the evenings at the property- the kitchen is the best equipped we’ve ever experienced, and the views, vistas and wildlife were enchanting. If SLO has nightlife, we missed it, but we had such fun cooking together, doing a puzzle, and enjoying one another. Couldn’t have asked for a better time!
If anything, this casita is even more beautiful than the pictures. It sits high on a hill on an 100+ acres cattle ranch. The house is very clean and comfortable, and the hosts were full of great recommendations for backroad adventures, wineries, and restaurants. Gary even brought us a big bowl of Meyer lemons from their tree. We hope to return next year!
The property is beautiful! We woke up the first morning and saw deer in the distance, grazing on the hills. The interiors are cozy and clean and the outdoor spaces are straight from a storybook! We had one mishaps on our end and the owners were super understanding and we were really appreciative of that. I do recommend being cautious around the dogs on the property and don’t approach or pet them. Overall, I loved everything about this place and would definitely stay here again!

The Casita was absolutely beautiful, and perfect for our family to stay in after a long drive from Oregon. Gary and Amber take great pride in their property, and it shows.
They have very clear instructions on how to get to the Casita. It is incredibly well maintained, very clean, and the beds are soooo comfortable! The views around the property are stunning, and it is so peaceful and serene.
It was lovely talking with Gary when we checked in - very hospitable and kind. They definitely went above and beyond, and if we make it down to SLO again, we would certainly choose to stay here. Thank you for everything!
We had a lovely stay at this lovely casita—it was a welcome escape from all the feelings associated with moving our freshman into Cal Poly and from the bustle of SLO and urban traffic. I will long remember the views of the hills with the animals (zebra included!) grazing and the refreshing feel of the breeze from the ocean as we watched the sun set from the back porch. A very special place!
We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend in the Edna Valley. The home was appointed perfectly with comfy beds and everything you could need. There were several nice touches including coffee, and a welcome gift of wine, cheese, crackers, and pastry for breakfast.
The views from the home were so amazing. We enjoyed sitting outside listening to the birds and enjoying the surrounding beauty of the hills.
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home.
Sincerely,
Eric and Victoria
Gary and Amber are great host and they made sure we had everything we needed from the moment we arrived including wine, cheese and crackers. The house was amazing with a comfortable king sized bed in every room. The outdoor spaces had great views of the surrounding countryside and was a great place to unwind after our drive over to the Central Coast. Gary it was nice to meet you and please say hi to Finn for us!
Sincerely,
Rick
