"Excellent location, our front room was spotless with a bay window though the traffic was very noisy from early morning. Also a pity that, despite being told about my friend's gluten intolerance, no.attempt was made at breakfast or on the evening menu to accommodate. Only one staff member apologised each of the three mornings A good cafe opposite and the Co-Op saved her, "

"Staff were nice and friendly, the room was a set up to high standard . There was also a hairdryer which was good because it rained the night before, so could dry clothes. Lift good ! Has lots of space around the hotel. Loads of rooms , the room was really good ! I would definitely stay again ! Thank you to the staff and everyone that make this hotel fantastic! Will come again sometime in the distant future ! "

"I had a really comfortable stay, no frills accomodation but very comfortable and a great shower. Special mention should go to the receptionist (Olie I think?) a fantastic warm and friendly welcome, he is a real credit to your establistment."

"We have had a great stay. Dinner lastnight in the Smiths Brasserie was superb and when we retired to the oak bar after we received great service there also. Off to the spa this morning for a detox. "

"Friendly welcome. Room was typical chain hotel style, but comfortable. Could have been cleaner (cobwebs in corners, dusty surfaces). Food was OK, service was attentive and friendly. Would stay here again, and maybe take advantage of the leisure facilities."

"The room was fantastic. But could do with a few bits of maintenance. (Towel holders could do with being reattached. That sort of thing). Lovely old building, but the room was lovely and modern, with great features. Nice grounds and great views. Nice swimming pool. But the changing room was really cold. The weather was really kind to us, and the property was ideal (& well equipped)Judith was very welcoming and the decorations were a nice fesitve touch.The general area is really nice and plenty to see and do.The Kingfisher Inn in Colyton serves some amazing fish/seafood dishes (& good beer)Would happily return."

"Had 3 lovely days at Brooksyde. A very comfortable house, a home form home seaside retreat. A great base to visit Lyme Regis, Sidmouth etc. Beer is a really lovely little village with a few independent shops and restaurants. The voucher for the next door shop was a nice surprise.
