"The spaces are great for larger groups to have space away and privacy for breaks. The pool and outdoor dining area was amazing. As expected, water pressure in these older homes can be inconsistent, but was not a problem. The home is a bit away from major highways, so day trips were a little more local driving, but didn’t limit us. Host family is nearby for support, but non intrusive and very accommodating. We had a wonderful dinner prepared our final night and everything was very hospitable."

"This is a fantastic place. The beauty of the property and surrounding mountains and valleys is stunning. Once there you almost don´t want to leave for any day trips. Usually pictures are better than the reality. This time it was the other way around. And the pics already were great. The pool on the property is golden. Really clean and nice. And in the hot summer time a very needed place to cool down. In sweltering heat, some of the rooms get pretty hot. Others stayed cool. Some, not all rooms...

"I knew instantly when I saw the listing for this Villa that it stood apart from the others! In person though it is even more beautiful! The owner is a decorator and his home is like a showroom for his talent and taste. We even visited his design shop where we loved things everywhere we looked. He( Giovanni) is very nice and even brought us breakfast one morning! To talk about our magical stay I must talk about the manager, Martina! From her beautiful welcoming smile to her unbelievable...

"Views to die for. Very private in a tiny village this was a very nice place to stay. Rina was a great host and by friendly. There is a little shop in the next village that we would walk to to get lunch. Bagni di Lucca is the local town, 15 minutes down the hill with lot of shops and restaurants. We spent most of the time relaxing at the villa but did enjoy a visit to Lucca."

"We had a wonderful 3 week stay with 8 adults and later 8 adults and 2 children. The property was as depicted with well maintained pool and yard, outdoor dining area, well equipped kitchen. It is on 3 levels with connecting spiral staircase plus a loft. Sarah was a wonderful host, very helpful and responsive. Bagni di Lucca is well past its glory days, but still charming and a short rather steep walk from the house. This is not the Tuscany we imaged with vistas of rolling hills and hilltop towns:...

"We stayed at Casa Rossa for two weeks with our kids (14 and 11). It was brilliant. The villa inside is spacious, very comfortable, and well equipped. But the star of the show is the pool (so lovely), the gorgeous (and enormous) garden, and the views. The photos simply don't do this place justice. Julian was very communicative and helpful with information before we got there, and his team on the ground were great. We only scratched the surface of things to do - we tried canyoning, high wires...

"What an absolutely beautiful spot. The Villa was everything we hoped for and the view was spectacular! Cuoco Adriana made us a fabulous meal on our second night. The road down to the villa is a bit tricky but we mastered it on no time. Just be patient and slow. The location was perfect for our travels to Pisa , Firenze and Cinque Terre! Each doable in a day and back in time for a late dinner on the terrace. Make sure you leave enough room for the garbage man to turn around or you will hear him...

"We had a lovely time staying here in Cantagrillo. The house is beautiful and very spacious. We were able to easily get on bus to Pistoia and train station for travel. We also enjoyed the pizzerias, Vesuvius for pastries, and gelato. Nick and his family who checked us in were very helpful with recommendations."

"Nestled on a hillside overlooking a small village sits a real Tuscan treat. Apart from the narrow winding road, this house is in a perfect location. Everything has been thoughtfully prepared, including a welcome basket of food and wine. The gardens and pool are fabulous. The only downfall is the bed, which is a little uncomfortable. But because everything else is so perfect you can overlook this imperfection."
