This is a special place. It is tucked into a small alcove about 15-20 minutes by foot to the city centre of Samara, or 5 minutes by bicycle. From the house you can walk 5-10 minutes to three beaches where you can walk, surf, fish, swim, or go tide pooling. There are hiking trails in the hills above only minutes from your doorstep. One thing that is great about Casa Ventura, is that one does not need to car to live there: the road to town if flat, no hills, as in other areas around Samara, so you can walk or bike easily to town or to the beaches.
The small neighborhood is occupied mostly, not entirely, by expats. Still, you have friendly contact with locals.
The house was built by a local artist 20 years ago. There is a clear Tico feeling to it, with post and beam ceiling, and his own paintings, in every room.
The home is well maintained and can accommodate up to 4 people. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and air conditioning for your comfort. The second bedroom has a queen bed. ALL bedrooms have AC. There are two full bathrooms so no waiting when you are getting ready to go out to one of Samara's many fantastic restaurants.
The home has a BRAND NEW SWIMMING POOL (2024) in a nicely landscaped backyard with mature tropical trees. There are tree covered breezy patio areas around the pool. The fully equipped kitchen has been upgraded with induction cooktop and air fryer and offers the comforts of home. The kitchen/lounge and dining room is an open floor plan with a comfy seating area looking out into the garden through double patio doors.
The dining room table and chairs are hand-made by a local artisan and located in the center of the main room, adjacent to the kitchen.
In spite of having a nice dining room, we enjoy nearly all of our meals in the rear patio. The rear patio overlooks the garden, the NEW SWIMMING POOL and its lush tropical greenery and the ever present songbirds.
The only other sound that you might hear in the peaceful Casa Ventura is the call of the Howler Monkey that can be heard during dusk and dawn. If you decide to go for a hike there is a good chance you will see one and can howl 'hello' back to them.
To facilitate your stay, we have 2 hosts who are available to respond to your inquiries and resolve any issues.
Casa Ventura, Samara remains a well-priced alternative for those wanting to stay near the sea and enjoy the tranquility of a blossoming town with a low-key vibe.
