"First and foremost, the staff were absolutely fantastic!!! They were ALL so friendly, funny and accommodating. They made the stay so enjoyable. The resort boasts 5 restaurants but based on hotel occupancy they are not all open each night. It does make business sense and I get it. I was just surprised by this when we got there. You need to make reservations each day for where you want to dine that night (based on what restaurants are open). You need to do this first thing in the morning or you may not get into your preferred restaurant for that night. For the most part, the food was very good to excellent. Our favorites were the Asian and Italian restaurants. They seemed to be most guests favorites. Laundry seemed to be an issue every day. We were never given a full compliment of towels each day and often had to go to the front desk to ask for hand towels and wash clothes. The beach was really nice but it's not a "sugar sand" beach. When the tide is out you have around 150 (or more) yards of hard-pack sand that is great for beach walking or running. It's a nice walk into Samara on the beach - about 1.5 miles and takes about 25-30 minutes. Some good tourist shopping and beach bars there. There are also several surfing schools there if you want to try that. The waves are great to learn on. We could not believe how warm the water was in the ocean (March). I've never felt the ocean that warm before. We were very happy there! "

"Residencias Samara is an oasis within the oasis of Samara. From the friendly staff to the comfortable rooms, Residencias Samara was the perfect homebase for the Samara leg of our honeymoon. We found it to be wonderfully relaxing and well situated within town and close to the beach. We spent a significant portion of our time enjoying the pool when not at the beach or the great restaurants nearby. We would definitely pick Residencias Samara again on a return trip in the future. "

"We had a group of 14 stay at Casa Pacifica and had a wonderful time! The house is a short walk to Samara beach and a short drive to Playa Carrillo, which was our favorite beach. We rented golf carts as the Vrbo was a drive to town, but we loved the location and never felt like we were missing out on the town. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked for ourselves all week with no issues. The pool was just the right size, especially with the beach so near. We utilized the paddle boards and boogie boards in the shed. We saw several iguanas and birds on the property but never saw monkeys, only heard them. Communication was simple through WhatsApp and the rental company was responsive. I’d go back in a heartbeat!"

"Very convenient for the beach, a very short walk to a nice restaurant (Hotel Restaurant Bahia) and close by the town of Samara. Easy walk along the beach during the dry season. Not much english spoken but communication was not a problem. Was able to upgrade to an air conditioned room which was essential due to 33*C and high humidity. Grounds and area very well kept with flowers and trees and a large resident Iguana. Pool and jacuzzi clean and pleasant."

"This was the first visit to Costa Rica for my family (spouse, kiddos, and parents). I had been 20 years ago, but not to Samara. The house was perfectly set up and offer space and place for everyone. Each day, we were greeting by howler monkeys and iguanas. The mother-in-law would make morning coffee and sit at the patio watching the passing monkey troup. My youngest daughter was in love with the pool and spent more afternoons there. The house itself is near but not directly in town and was quiet peaceful each day. We would easily come back again. "
